  1. My dh and I have different views on this, but earrings on boys are not a big deal to me. It's not a tattoo or gauge that would be difficult to repair either. I would only request that they get it done professionally and pay for all of it themselves.
  2. I'd suggest that your husband try Weight Watchers for their three month special. I just wanted to drop about 8 lbs and I hate tracking every bite of my food intake. I've tried food journaling, My FitnessPal and some of the others. I cannot stand tracking calories. I could never understand why I need to worry about measuring my vegetable intake. I mean, isn't it better that I eat more veggies? I felt like tracking the calories was a punishment of some sort. With WW, most fruits, veggies, eggs, lean chicken, and beans are "free" so I can eat those as much as I want. I know that might sound strange, but I naturally gravitate to eating a lot of produce. WW is very easy and I feel like food prep and measuring is minimal. I want to be aware of what I eat, but not obsessed with it. Does that make sense? Well, I've lost 5 lbs in 4 weeks and so it's working.
  3. 1. autopay virtually all bills. 2. Kids do all of their own laundry folding 3. I taught the kids to clean the house. We all work together, but it goes very quickly now. 4. They all do one sport. I cannot and will not taxi them to multiple sports/ activities. 5. I'm a sort of minimalist so it's easy to keep things put away. 6. I'm sure that this can't be helped, but we are all very healthy so there are no doctor's visits except for yearly checkups. 7. I was able to move my aging parents to their own home 5 minutes away. This has helped so so much. They used to live much farther away and it was difficult when they needed help. 8. A lot of people struggle with the mental overload of a messy house. Since I am a natural purger and a relatively tidy person, I don't really experience the stress of a messy home.
  4. Honestly, I was going to suggest c Diff. I'm a bit paranoid after taking Microbiology this past fall though. It might be worth looking into.
  5. Our HVAC guy installed it. I do believe that a handy DIYer could do it though. In fact, if I could do it again, I would buy the product independently and then hire someone to install it. It will be way way cheaper that way. The air that is filtered through the HVAC is exposed to UV rays and thus it kills spores and even reduces smells in the house. We are both rather skeptical people, but at the time we were both desperate for some relief for him. The benefits were so immediate that it was startling. After a year of using it, when we sold our house, we had our HVAC guy remove it from the old house and install it in the new house. Lol. Before we had the UV light, he suffered with sinus issues for the majority of the year. I literally cannot remember the last time he had a problem since we put in the light. I can't remember the exact name of the one we have. I looked on Amazon and searched for HVAC UV light. The Bio-Shield might be similar.
  6. Do you sleep well? I get a cold (usually very mild) every few years. I honestly can't remember the last time I was sick. I do a few things that I think help me, but they don't require any conscious effort on my part. 1. I eat well. Tons of fruits, veggies, whole grains, moderate on the meat. 2. I consume a lot of foods that have probiotics. These are cultural foods for me, so again, no effort here. I don't believe that probiotics in pills do anything. 3. While I'm not saying that you don't have a cold or not, you may want to check out getting a UV light for your HVAC. My husband has a mold/spore allergy and once we had it installed, his sinus issues reduced by 95 if not 100%. The poor guy basically always had a "cold" and sore inflamed sinuses. The air passing through the UV light kills off the spores before going into the rest of the HVAC. 4. I sleep well.
  7. I really like Everyday Minerals. I've been using it for years and it's particularly good for humidity.
  8. Probably too late, but I would serve it with a side of sauteed kale and some fruit.
  9. I really am sorry. I do believe that it will be a struggle for a while. You mentioned above that your bingeing is on a much smaller scale. Do you think you could elaborate? I'm just wondering if your idea of bingeing might trigger your calorie restriction. Maybe if you begin to see it differently, it will reduce the feeling of guilt and compulsion to restrict. If you think about it, a lot of people do this. When I go out to eat, I'll nibble on apps, have an entree, and sometimes I'll even have a dessert. Is that considered a binge? Many people do this and it can really be an easy 1,000 calories. Usually, I think, "wow, I'm stuffed. I guess I need to eat healthfully for the next few days." That's it. I realize that the scenario might be the same for you, but the thoughts after are different. Maybe if you began to see this as a normal eating event the feelings of guilt would reduce and then the compulsion to restrict would reduce?
  10. When we were house hunting, we looked at a house with the type of power lines and transformers in the neighborhood. For what it's worth, my electrical engineer husband refused the house for this reason.
  11. I get frequent advertisements for the Captial One Venture card. My husband uses his Chase Marriott card a lot. You can accumulate a lot of hotel points that way. This can easily get you a "free" hotel stay for an entire vacation.
  12. There are tons of museums, restaurants, and quirky parts of the city. Reading Terminal Market and Chinatown for sure. Old City and Independence Mall are great for history buffs.
  13. I think I've seen it at Target, but I usually order it from Amazon or Vitacost. Good luck. Be sure to not use too much. It's so concentrated that a little too much makes surfaces feel a bit tacky. A little goes a really long way in cleaning power and scent wise.
  14. Mrs. Meyers Lemon Verbena. I buy the concentrate (it makes a ton!) and once I mop my floors and wipe down the counters it puts me in a good mood.
  15. As the OP mentioned above, skin care really is very individual. I bought the Australian Gold Sunblock and didn't like it at all. It felt impossible to remove and I really don't think that I need to be rubbing and attacking my face in order to remove sunblock. A lot of people mention the CeraVe products too. I bought it to use and it made me get weird small bumps. I offered it to my daughter and the same thing happened to her. I never thought my skin was particularly sensitive, but what I realize is that I've been using PC products for 25 years. I just never have any problems with PC products.
  16. I 100% agree with Monica. In fact, I think that we are both PC fans. I will add that if you chose to use these products, they make your skin more sensitive to the sun. You will have to diligently apply sunblock every single day or keep your body covered.
  17. It's not necessarily hopeless, but it needs to be prevented. The primary cause of sagging skin is UV exposure. Sunblock needs to be applied generously from the scalp down the neck and on the chest area if these areas are exposed.
  18. There are a lot of factors to consider, but an fyi. The BHA 2% liquid has a cult following. I suggest you look at the Resist line for normal/oily skin. They also have one for dry skin.
  19. Have you seen the episode of Conan O'Brien and Steve Yun at the Korean spa? I was dying. It is so funny and so relatable (because I'm Korean, not because I go to the spas). Korean Spas are actually a real part of the culture and a major social activity in Korea.
  20. I would be glad to get $500 for it. My friend recently bought a relatively newish large Samsung fridge from the Habitat Restore store for $375.
  21. A nice North Face coat. I resisted forever because I thought that the extra money wouldn't make a difference from a cheaper coat. No way. It blocks the wind unlike any of the other cheaper coats that I've ever had. Not worth it? I bought a huge bottle of Avalon Organics shampoo from Costco. As soon as I try to wash my hair, it balls up into a rats nest in the shower! Ugh. I hate waste and I know that Costco will take the return but just throw it out. So I keep using the rats nest shampoo.
  22. Lol. I'm Korean and I can't even imagine going to a Korean spa. I've had many many opportunities, but the thought of stripping down all the way is just not appealing to me at all.
