  1. When buying a quilt or even a blanket, I always go up one size. That is: for a twin, I get a full - for a full, I get a queen. This gives the extra room for tossing and turning, etc and for when they get bigger, more room.
  2. If I could afford it, I'd would say "thanks, but not thanks" to son and just replace it out of my own pocket.
  3. THanks - I just ordered it - keeping my fingers crossed that it works
  4. ahhh . 11 year old golden retriever has joint problems now - could you send me info on where exactly online I could purchase CBD oil for him - maybe even a private message or a link here - i tried looking online but was overwhelmed! Thanks Myra
  5. Funny - my kiddo can't tolerate zyrtec but xyzal works wonders - guess everyone is different so you got to keep trying until you find the magic potion for your allergies
  6. my kiddo that seems to be allergic to everyone/thing suggests that you try xyzal - that's the only one that works for his pet allergies
  7. Loved them twirl-go-rounds where 4 people sit across from each other and pump it with hands and feet to go around https://twirlgoround.com/
  8. 00 flour - never heard of it! But I am willing to give it a try - first, I gotta find who sells it in my area! Thanks!
  9. I have tried a variety of pizza crust recipes - and, well, they aren't good tasting or texture-wise either. I do like the store bought pizza dough that you roll out onto the pan but it is really high in calories. Any help?
  10. And another concern with your MIL leaving the house unattended... that is living in the house itself. For example, my mother got frantically "lost" in the shower stall one morning in her own bathroom in the house where they had lived for 25 years! And even when the health care workers were there with my parents, they flipped the fuse/breaker off to the stove and washer/dryer as Mom wanted to continue doing chores but it she was unable to do so safely anymore. All door locks (bedroom, bath, etc) had to be disabled eventually. We found it cheaper to have round the clock caretakers for both of my parents than a nursing home facility. Luckily, they lived in a adult only community and there were two couples who were retired but looking for extra cash who we were able to hire. They sort of "adopted" my parents more so then an outside agency would do - cooking meals together, doing their laundry, grocery shopping, doctor appts, watching tv/movies, going out to dinner, etc. - and they were so much cheaper than an agency.
  11. absolutely not from a woman (me) who announced earlier this afternoon that dinner tonight will be only blueberry pie and apple pie with whip cream and/or vanilla ice cream
  12. Got the following email within 5 minutes of ordering this afternoon... Thank you for placing your order on USPS.com®. Once your package ships, you'll receive a tracking number and updates on the expected delivery date. Note: At-home COVID-19 tests will ship free starting in late January. USPS will only send one set of 4 free tests to valid residential addresses. We are unable to process duplicate orders for the same address.
  13. Ahhh... there are so many options for her on youtube when I checked today. Could someone post a link for the 30 day challenge? Thanks!
  14. Would like some suggestions for calcium supplements - you know, tablets that aren't "horse size" You folks were great with magnesium suggestions - so here's hoping for great advice again.
  15. forget the dye - don't cover the gray - instead do like I did yesterday - i had a red stripe on one side and a green stripe on the other - holiday festive!
  16. New England 275 cord/seasoned/split to length needed for our wood stove/delivered/not stacked
  17. I, too, could not use multifocal contacts either and still have most of the trial pack. I could never get them good enough to read and see distance clearly. It was frustrating trying the different brands and time-consuming. Instead, I have a pair or "reader" glasses that I use mostly when on computer or actually reading. In addition, I have a pair of progressives that I keep in the car for driving, reading maps, and when shopping in stores.
  18. here's my tongue-in-cheek answer... we got a puppy at the same time my youngest was being potty trained. So every time I took the puppy out to the yard every hour or so my kiddo also sat on the potty chair placed in the yard, too! Unconventional - but it worked great! SO my advice is to get a puppy!

  20. Why does the ADA recommend statins for diabetics?
  21. When I was living in Florida, I'd shop the thrift shops as many new residents that have moved from the North unload their winter coats, skis, etc. once they permanently move to Florida. Great deals!
  22. That's why I switched to a private one-doctor practice. If I call she will squeeze me in that same day!

  25. I just cleaned out the games closet and donated the games to a women's (domestic violence) shelter. They were glad to have them as they liked to give kids games to keep.
