  1. If this place has a rewards card, they can use that to look up the purchase. If not, just go do what Elizabeth said.
  2. Prayers for you and your son. I posted just apologize that my nosiness may have ended up with me giving the post a rating. I'm not sure how many stars I gave it. I was trying to figure out what the other posters were talking about and accidentally clicked on the stars. Back to the original post, my nephew went through a very difficult adolescence(police were involved before he was out of elementary school) and reminds me a bit of what you post about your son. He's still trying to find his place, but he is a functional young adult now. Hopefully this will be a helpful thing in the long run. You seem like a mom who is trying so hard and I pray your efforts see fruit soon.
  3. I was able to get a Glamorise brand bra off of amazon for a little over$20. I wear an even larger size and it works well. I'll try to put a link in if I can. http://www.amazon.com/Glamorise-Womens-Bounce-Support-Sport/dp/B002RAMCXE/ref=sr_1_2?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1379017390&sr=1-2&keywords=glamorise
  4. I grew up in Christian schools, so the dress code that focuses overwhelmingly on girls is old hat to me. I read this article a while back and thought of it when I was reading this thread. I felt it was a much more balanced perspective coming from a man in his early twenties who works with youth. I will try to put a link in and keep my fingers crossed that it works. http://jeffbethke.com/the-idolatry-of-modesty/ The article is definitely from a Christian perspective, but I thought it made some interesting points that were a little different.
  5. Mom: 41 Me: 20 MIL:18 Husband: 20 My mother is 20+ years older than my MIL, but she is the active Grandma in my kid's life. She was 67 when my almost 9yo was born and still takes him at least once or twice a week. I hope that's encouraging to people who might be worrying about how old they'll me when they have grandchildren.
  6. A quick heads up if you are there solstice weekend. There is a parade in Fremont that includes naked bike riders that Saturday, so if your uncomfortable with that you may want to stay out of the north part of the city that day. It's really not that hard to get around without a car. The link light rail runs from the airport to downtown and you can easily take the monorail from downtown to the Seattle center.
  7. I get the Russell brand basic pants at Fred Meyer. They are pretty inexpensive and come in an XXL or a XL. Also the yoga capris at Old Navy fit pretty well for a shorter pant.
  8. I would try to get away from this gym as quickly as possible. My daughter was in a competitive program for a few years and it can be hard to find the right fit. Some gyms have great competitive programs, but there rec programs are pretty rough and some vice versa. I was the treasurer for our club \for a while and, if your name has a clue to your location, might be in the same region. If your at all interested, I could let you know what I know about the area programs. There's definitely some I would avoid if at all possible, and there's a few that I know enough about the head coaches to say I'd love my kid to train under them.
  9. Have you asked your son how he'd feel about sharing a bed if the other kid wasn't a bed wetter? From what I've seen, teenage boys rarely want to share a bed. Sometimes not even with a sibling they've spent all their life with. Believe me, if I were you, I would be so frustrated with the bed-wetting. I just think it might be better if you consider it irrelevant for this situation. Sleeping on the floor is not a big deal when you're young and I think you might be dealing with it irregardless of the bed wetting.
  10. I've used the magnesium oil from Health and Wisdom and from Swanson's Vitamins. The Swanson's is considerably less expensive, and I have not noticed a difference. The Health and wisdom website has a lot of great info on magnesium and the different forms and uses. I'm sorry I can't figure out how to make it a link.
  11. You rarely have a choice who to buy through. Most venues have a contract with Ticketmaster or another major ticket retailer. That's one reason everyone hate Ticketmaster. The other reason is the 10-20 dollars in fees per ticket that will be added. That is always the most painful thing about buying tickets. Hope you have a great time at the concert!
  12. My daughter really liked Louisa May Alcott Unmasked. It's a collection of thriller short stories. It's not at all what you'd expect from the author of Little Women. Also Among the Shadows by L.M. Montgomery is a fun read, especially if she ever liked Anne of Green Gables.
  13. Here is a link to the info on getting a passport at the office. http://travel.state.gov/passport/fri/schedule/schedule_852.html'>http://travel.state.gov/passport/fri/schedule/schedule_852.html'>http://travel.state.gov/passport/fri/schedule/schedule_852.html'>http://travel.state.gov/passport/fri/schedule/schedule_852.html Also some info from a blog about the situation: http://travel.state.gov/passport/fri/schedule/schedule_852.html I believe you can get still get it the same day or next day under certain circumstances. I had friend who was able to do it out of the Seattle office. I think they were able to pick them up the next day or something like that. Good luck and prayers for you and your Grandma
  14. I'm so sorry. I'll keep you and you family in my prayers.
  15. I like to checkout Ross, Marshalls, or TJ Maxx. Also if you have a Nordstrom Rack nearby, they have a lot of shoes. They can all be pretty hit or miss, but you can get nicer shoes for the price.
  16. Thank you all so much for the advice. I hope it will be easier now that I have the first post out there. I've probably made it into a bigger deal in my own mind. I'm really good at that. :) Michelle DD10 DS4
  17. How do you start posting on this or any message board? I've lurked here off and on for a while now, but can't seem to bring myself to post. I figured I can't be the only person who feels this way(I hope!:)). Any one have any great tips? I've learned so much from so many of you and it feels weird just watching it all happen. Thanks for any advice you might have! Michelle DD 10 DS 4
