  1. I asked TOG if redesigned 3 & 4 would have enough Economics material to qualify for 1/2 credit. Dana responded with this: "No, in Redesign, there won't be enough to count as a full or 1/2 credit. There *is* some information about banking and finance, but as it pertains to history. I will be looking for a good economics program for Lampstand to sell, but as of yet haven't found one." I hope they will be able to develop one soon.
  2. Jann and Chris: Thank you for the warnings. I will continue to research math programs for my dc.
  3. Thank you for your advice! I am looking forward to our first year with TOG. I know it will make teaching my multi level kids much easier.
  4. I really appreciate the input!:) Anne in HI, thank you for the Memoria Press link. I don't think we will do an online course, but I am certainly going to consider the books that they use. Are there anyother books that I should consider?:bigear:
  5. Dc have a 1/2 credit economics graduation requirement. I thought it might be nice to tie it into our history lessons. (We will be covering year 3 material.) Is there anything out there that would fit nicely into a historical approach? Thanks in advance for your input!
  6. I am considering the new (2007) editions. Have you seen these Algebra versions? Do they have a similar format? Do they use real-life applications? Thanks!
  7. I would like to know what you think of their curriculum. Their sample geometry chapter looks like it would work for DS:001_smile:, but their link for algebra I is down:glare:.
  8. I need help deciding what to do next year. DS course sequence 4th California History 5th Am. History 6th Ancients 7th Middle Ages 8th Am. History & Govt (We are only going to make it through the 1800's) I thought that TOG 4 would be the next logical step, however, I see that the redesign version is due out in 2009-2010. Should I... A. Order Classic TOG 4 B. Order Redesigned TOG 3 (We haven't covered Early Modern World History) C. Order Redesigned TOG 1 * D. *(Ds was a late reader; he has just recently started to like reading, and I would hate to cause him anymore frustration. I plan to complete all four TOG levels; I'm just not sure if he is ready to tackle Ancient Lit right now.) Any input/advice/ideas would be greatly appreciated.:D
  9. I wasn't sure if the mention of "private" home scool would, in actuality, be defining home schools as private schools. (I knew the intent of the legislation was to reverse the blanket application) :)
  10. I thought so too. I was just hoping that "Private home schooling" would give us a little more ground to stand upon.
  11. Take a look at ACR 115. (link on other thread) It's new legislation addressing the court case.
  12. Does "Private home schooling" mean that hs will be (legally) recognized as private schools? Link: http://info.sen.ca.gov/pub/07-08/bill/asm/ab_0101-0150/acr_115_bill_20080310_introduced.html
  13. The value of the dollar (exchange rate) continues to fall...more dollars for imported goods (oil).
