I don't know anything about dairy farming, or the current size of your farm. I wonder if there's any way to sort of reorganize, maybe sell off some assets and create a smaller, more focused specialty farm?
Does your location lend itself to adding a bakery/coffee shop/artisan cheese shop? Student field trip programs for a small admissions fee?
We have a couple of local dairy farms and other farms that have found their niches in specialty markets. Is it possible to pursue such a thing?
You two have probably considered everything - just trying to think hopefully for you.

He sat on that stand and described in detail what he witnessed, down to the sound of "flesh slapping against flesh." He saw the victim was not of consensual age. His lack of immediate reaction tremendously disappoints me.

We got our Panasonic at Best Buy last fall after five years of looking. I'd determined that we wanted an LED, but after talking to my dad, who designed TVs all his career, decided on a plasma because of its more dependable technology and lower price. HTH
DH started out wanting an LED but came to the same conclusion about a plasma after doing the research.

MW - starting to see construction and auto sales resume. Honestly, our specific area has been fairly insulated from the worst of things. Everyone has been challenged by rising gasoline and grocery costs, and we know a smattering of folks who lost their jobs, but the restaurant and mall parking lots never went empty.
We have seen jobs for teens below 18yo pretty much dry up, but there seem to be "help wanted" and "now hiring" signs posted in a lot of windows.

Like Pam "SFSOM" in TN? Flaming Sword is part of her name. It came from the Unitarian Jihad name generator. Now who else remembers that?
Sister Flaming Sword of Moderation. She was a peacemaker. Most of the time. :D
Seems like she's not been gone as long as some of the rest. Where oh where is PariSarah? I miss her posts.

I started posting in 2004. My first post was about a spelling program for my oldest who was so smart he needed a spelling program in K , and no one seemed to understand and told me I didn't need to do a spelling program in K, and I thought no one understood the level of genius I was dealing with .
I think I was fourth once. I must've been up with a baby.
I used to be threelops. The JGsomethingMom called me "threeb00bs" when we outed her .
JGEmom, I think that was her. She had some really dire stories.

Well, this is just a guess, but it's possibly a cyst on the ovary. I have had these, once one showed up on an US but at other times they resolve and don't show up. The pain I have from these cysts is usually felt in that PMS time frame. Mine have, so far, all gone away on their own, but I know that doesn't always happen. Also, the pain I've felt has been more concentrated to one side or the other, not just central/uterine.
I would hope that my doc would be more inclined to investigate things further. Hope yours will...

Are they old enough to need things to chew on? Or things to play with?

Ultrasound results?

A camera.
We expect to see some adorable pup pics posted soon. :D

Yes! Didn't Butch have goats! I think she was eventually banned.
Butch had cows; I remember her having to deal with the possible effects of a volcanic eruption (Mt St Helens round 2, or some other volcano in the PNW). Colleen had similar issues with her dairy herd, I think. Butch might have also had goats, I don't remember them specifically.
And oh yeah, I was First! once. :D

Check out Samsung models at Best Buy.

I remember all this stuff! Yes, seems like folks were more touchy, or more bluntly speaking, a few years back.
IIRC, the multie accounts blowup/warning came with the gal who turned out to have three or four user names. I don't specifically remember it being a Brenda... Anyway, this gal also turned out to be a major troll, with a daughter that got pregn@nt by another hsing kid at co-op, etc, etc.
Also, a rather tragic story, does anyone remember Butch? I think before the end of that situation she had more than one user name.

No. Where I live things are actually getting to be a lot better. We're self-employed and many of our friends are self-employed and we are all starting to get really busy. Things are getting better not worse.
Do you think some of what we're seeing around here is pent up demand? That folks have been putting off some types of purchases for years, until they've reached a point where they can't wait any longer for that good or service?
I think we've entered the season of holding breath until the election outcome. After that I bet we'll see some activity. But bank runs? Seems unlikely. Rising taxes? Seems unavoidable. I what we will see is another major wave of change in personal spending habits.

A good colorist will probably give you a corrective color weave. Some will give you a new base color and highlight over that. I'm afraid it's not gong to be cheap...
FWIW, I successfully colored my own hair for 25 years. Then, suddenly, some switch flipped. I don't know if it's age, changing hormones, or what, but I cannot do it myself without awful brassiness (yes, toners and all...fail). I finally had a talk with an excellent stylist to come up with a plan that requires a coloring visit about 3 times a year. I also finally convinced dh that a professional coloring job is a necessity - after the last disastrous results and seeing the apparent age difference when I "go natural," he agreed. :D

*ahem*
*points at title*
Yes, I am a Prof. Tyvm!
If I'm an idol, do I have to sing? *shudder* Or do I get pd tributes? Tributes could be cool...
But Tributes also have to go into the ring. Are you ready to fight til death over:
Crockpots?
Shoes?
Grocery cart returns?
The correct way to spell "y'all"?
How long to nurse - if at all? And if you can do it in public?
The real best math curriculum?
How to boot a Dog Baby?
Can you recite The Epic of the Wax as a defensive art?
You might need a Haymitch. Yeah, that should be a higher rank yet.

You earn it at 5000 plus one. :D

Looks like the Curriculum Client Bill of Rights is off to a fine start.
I echo the readability issue. Too many words on the page, tiny font (justified to the edges, leaving loooooong gaps between some words, or other words with their l e t t e r s all stretched out), itty bitty margins.... If I'm going to use it, I'm going to have to be able to get past the first page without getting sea sick.
-
Maybe you could do that circuit board cake linked above and tell him it's an Enigma machine. :D
How about a treasure hunt with coded clues?
-
I'd write the greeting and a short message (maybe the secret location of a gift) using a simple substitution code, then have those present work to decode it before cutting the cake.
:iagree:
Or Morse Code, or elf runes..

Yikes. That would definitely make me find a new teacher. I took lessons for 10 years with 3 different teachers and at all of the levels, the teachers made certain that the students were going to play at the recitals (in fact, they would make us feel bad if we weren't). That is definitely the teacher's job to make sure the student is coming and playing and well-prepared, etc. Oooh, I am getting mad just thinking about it!
:iagree:
And it was LAST week, and she didn't call to check on you after the apparent no-show? I think perhaps she has too many students if such important details are falling through the cracks.

Well, we never did solve the mystery of the celebrity homeschooler spotted at a convention last year, did we?
Dawn.... was it you???

Hey Dianne, next time you're invited to their place, bring your cats. When they turn you away at the door... precedent set.

Y' know, just reading this thread kind of makes me want to wash my hands, brush my teeth and disinfect my dining table.
Gulf Shores in October
in General Education Discussion Board

Go the first week, if you can. The water will be great for swimming. Fall is better than spring - the gulf takes a while to warm up BUT holds on to the summer heat. October is my favorite month to be there.
I would recommend, though, that you look into getting a small traveler's insurance policy to cover the cost of your accommodations due to the (slight but possible) chance that a hurricane or tropical storm would cause you to change your plans.
