  1. We were given chalkdust pre-algebra and geometry; however, the only have the VHS tapes and we do not have a way to use them. Can you do chalkdust without the videos? Thank you, Jenny
  2. We were given the Chalkdust geometry from a friend. It looks great, but it has VHS tapes and not DVDs, and we do not have a player for those anymore. Can this program be used without the videos? We also were given the pre-algebra for my younger daughter, and have the same question. Thank you, Jenny
  3. I am trying to figure out History for my 8th grader. Can anyone give me their experience with MFW Exploration to 1850 for an 8th grader? I was also looking at Notgrass America The Beautiful, but I cannot find much on that. I want to make sure that my dd has enough work at her level. I think it looks plenty for my 5th grader, but I want to make sure I don't have to add a lot for my 8th grader. Open and Go is what I need next year :)
  4. Thank you! I did not realize that "America the Beautiful" from Notgrass was so new. I have never looked at BJU. I had always steered away from textbooks, but maybe that would be a good introduction to textbooks before high school. I am not a great at adjusting programs because I work full-time and really need to have everything scheduled out. We have used SL in the past, but with my work schedule increasing (a blessing, but also cuts into our school time) I don't have time to read that much to each child, and really their age span is to large to combine them.
  5. I am looking into using MFW Exp. to 1850 for 8th grade, but then I came across Notgrass America the Beautiful. Can anyone compare the two programs? I will also have a 5th grader and if I don't use MFW, I will have to add Science. (The 8th grader will be doing General Science with either program.) I would love to hear any opinions on either of the programs. Thanks so much! Jenny
