  1. Yes, this. It's easy to clean out the rollers and pop them back in. I have both and it has no problem. You can tell by the sound that it "knows" whether it's on carpet or hardwood. Our bathrooms are tile and it handles them well too. It easily transitions from the wood in the hall to the carpet in our bedroom to the tile in the bathroom, and then back to carpet when it gets to the walk-in closet.
  2. I have two sets of these and really like them. We still have some plastic containers but for the most part we use the glass ones.
  3. I've had 8 dogs and 9 cats so far in my life. I can confirm that this is accurate.
  4. What a wonderful update! After all he's been through I'm glad the doctors finally got a handle on things and that the surgery went well. Fingers crossed for a smooth recovery.
  5. I use bluetooth earbuds that allow for noise cancellation (wouldn't recommend when walking near a road) as well as ambient sound. As for listening, it's usually conversation style podcasts but occasionally an audio book.
  6. Agreeing that spiral ham is the best option. Pulled pork would be my second choice if you have a way to keep it insulated for the trip.
  7. I have this one and love it. I've had a Neato, a cheap Roomba, and a self emptying smart Shark. None of them compare to my current Roomba i7+. It mapped quickly and easily (something that the Shark didn't do), I can set virtual no go zones on the app so there's no need for magnetic strips or barriers. I can also set favorites either for individual rooms or by grouping several rooms/areas. I don't use the schedule feature but it's there. It cleans well, has a feature where it goes back and forth over areas that have more dirt, and gets edges. The app lets me know when a filter or bag needs to be changed and shows the cleaning history. Overall, I'm really happy with it. ETA: It works with both Alexa and Google.
  8. Has anyone else's hardiness zone changed? I went from 9b to 10a. It threw me when I first saw it but after thinking on it for a bit I guess I'm not surprised. For quite a few years now our winters have been milder and our summers hotter. https://planthardiness.ars.usda.gov/ You can put in your zip code or use your precise location (have to give permission first) to get a closer look. My yellow patio tomato seeds didn't germinate and I'm not sure why. The rosella purple is growing as is my Bloomsdale spinach. I'm not going to plant more of the yellow patio seeds though I might pick up some kind of patio tomato starter next time I'm at the local nursery. My lettuce also didn't germinate though I think I figured that one out. I planted it at the right time but then we had more than a week of higher than normal temperatures. What's normal now that my zone has changed? Not sure I know anymore. I'm going to plant more lettuce seeds but I'll wait a week or two until we're hopefully, safely cooler. I haven't planted anything else though I plan to next week. This week is too rainy - also "not normal" in this, our dry season.
  9. I use King Arthur for all my flours.
  10. Yes, many years ago. It's not awful but not my choice. Agreeing with @teachermom2834 that it's a very common Italian (or possibly just Italian American) topping.
  11. Change the words "sorry" to "excuse me" and queue to line and every one of those happens here. 😂
  12. Yes to this. Taking a cart by accident is one thing and you usually notice what you did before long. What she did is weird and definitely not shopping behavior etiquette.
  13. Oh no! I'm sorry to hear this. I hope they get her pain under control.
  14. We tried. It didn't work. We bought the specific bulbs they recommended but nope. Still out. We gave up and just put new strings of lights on without removing the ones it came with. You don't notice it unless you get close up and look.
  15. The lights on our pre-lit tree lasted 3 years. We have a pre-lit tree that actually has a full set of lights on it now. I want to replace it and when we do I won't bother with pre-lit. I don't like putting lights on but ended up having to do so anyway.
  16. This too. We only took photos wearing our "Christmas best". There might have been a few photos of kids playing with toys later in the day wearing play clothes but never in pj's.
  17. I was born in the 50s and it was not a thing when I was growing up in the 60s.
  18. Off topic but years ago I worked as a behavior specialist at a residential facility for people with profound intellectual disabilities. There were 4 houses and each house had a behavior specialist and a nurse. The nurses were all supposed to use green ink pens and we were all supposed to use purple ink pens. We were supplied with our correct color pens. Any time I see something written in purple ink I think of my time as a BPS (Behavior Program Specialist).
  19. Fall is one of our best planting times here. All of my vegetables are in containers because of where I live. No photos yet because it's all just dirt as I wait for the seeds to germinate. Everything is from seed so far but I might visit our local nursery and see if they have any starter plants I want. So far I've planted a salad bowl lettuce mix and a Grandma Hadley's lettuce. I'll succession plant more in a few weeks so we can have lettuce all season. It might be wishful thinking but I planted two kinds of tomatoes - yellow patio and rosella purple. Since they're both in containers I can move them inside if we get a cold snap. I also planted Bloomsdale spinach and some flowers - nasturtium and calendula. This week I'll plant DeCicco broccoli, Early Jersey Wakefield cabbage, Savoy cabbage, and some carrots. I might also start some parsley in a starter pot. I was really annoyed at Southern Exposure Seed Exchange. I ordered softneck garlic in early August but by late September it hadn't shipped. In order to grow garlic here it has to be vernalized in the refrigerator for 8-12 weeks, with 12 weeks being the better option. It needs to be in the ground no later than early December. I emailed them and asked for a refund, which they gave me with no problem. I later called to discuss the issue with someone. She said next year if I order garlic to add a note about my Central Florida location and ask that I be put on the early delivery list.
