  1. My son is in 8th grade going into his freshman year, and is worried he won't get anytime to hang out with his friends and has asked me to compose a light summer school schedule. Can any of you homeschool moms out there help me?
  2. This makes very good bread and very easy. It is nice to have a warm, fresh loaf with dinner every night. http://www.amazon.com/Artisan-Bread-Five-Minutes-Revolutionizes/dp/0312362919/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1294858063&sr=8-1
  3. Not a doctor here, but my son did this too. We found out his tonsils and adenoids were HUGE and apparently it hurt him to talk. All those tedious well baby checks and all those ear infections and not a single person looked in his mouth...we had horrible insurance. Once he healed from the tonsils and adenoid removal, he started talking. Not sure if this is your issue, but if I could help just one other person it is worth it. For the record, everybody had an opinion on why he wasn't talking, including one pediatrician claiming he was autistic. He is now a huge popular almost 13 year old boy who won't shut up.
  4. mashed potatoes with butter and vanilla extract turkey with basil sprinkled on top. Stuffing Sushi(Yeah, I know) Wine(There's some special grape juice in a wine carton, just pour some of that into a wine glass for the kiddies) Apple Cobbler Pumpkin Pie
  5. How about you try moving his bed-time a little later and doing it right before bed.
  6. Try duel-enrollment that way he can get the high-school cred and the homeschool he needs.
  7. 12yo is old enough to start learning Goverment/Civics, I would recommend starting with the bill of rights

  9. My son read it in 1st grade, there's really nothing inappropriate in the series as I've read them several times myself.
  10. I would suggest a curriculum that includes very detailed information on the bill of rights. Nothing else get a copy of the Bill of Rights and have your child write an essay for each amendment.

  12. basically keep in touch with friends. They like the smiley face abilities and the fact that most phones have facebook, myspace or twitter on them. Plus "everyone has it"
  13. I would suggest a very fancy dinner with chocolate fondue and wine. :D
