  1. When the kids were young, I always had items in the closet for quick gifts. Now, I mostly give wine as hostess gifts or for exchanges.
  2. I will add that we would say that we lived in Timbuktu or out in the boonies. Again, never heard BFE.
  3. I would probably still serve alcohol simply because I have a full bar/lounge in my home that you see as soon as you walk in. People are accustomed to going straight there when they arrive to get themselves something to drink or have my dh make something. And even without that set-up, it is likely that Angie will just start bringing wine to share or send her dh out to get some since you "forgot" to get any.
  4. Being able to "cut" food gives the kiddos fine motor practice while they're playing.
  5. We used to live in Clarksville. Our old church in Clarksville posted pics of the clean-up work. A friend shared that one of their friends lost their son. It's all so sad.
  6. I've been watching friends there post that they're okay and also posting pics of the devastation. Dh's former co-worker lives about a mile from the touchdown. I miss my friends there, but I really don't miss all of the tornado scares there. We have some in Ohio but nothing like there.
  7. I managed to get the main level clean and pick up a vehicle from the mechanic. Was getting ready to relax when dh asked me when I'd be home from a Chamber event. I'd forgotten that I needed to go to that. Got myself dressed and am leaving soon.
  8. Not showing up for an interview could be the best way to get this one out of the way.
  9. I love the Grinch. He's adorable. That wouldn't bother me at all.
  10. Dh has a very ugly Xmas sweater. I have two that are more cute than ugly but work for parties.
  11. Could you use it for fancy stocking stuffers? Like for good chocolate.
  12. I like the citation tool in MS Word. Never had an issue with accuracy.
  13. I guess I've been lucky to have such supportive environments. The IAs were definitely treated as part of the team. I would definitely not tell the teacher. They may be in a teacher's classroom, but the teacher would not be responsible for counseling them on behavior. That would be either the principal or the assistant principal. Document and then ask the principal or assistant to help YOU strategize working with the others. It lets the admin know there is a problem and that you are willing to make the effort. Then the admin can decide what they need to do.
  14. It depends... a walk to a casual restaurant, in my casual shoes/boots and I'm not wearing nicer dress shoes? 15 minutes. Wearing nicer clothes & shoes? 5 minutes. Buying more than one light bag of groceries? Not walking, no matter the distance. With one light bag? 15 minutes. Much also depends on the weather. Not working up a gross sweat to go out for even a casual meal, unless I'm at the beach. But even then, I don't want to show up gross if I can help it.
  15. Nice! My husband was stationed at Governor's Island when it still belonged to the Coast Guard.
  16. The worst playground injury when I was subbing in the school clinic was a child running headfirst into a picnic table. I could see her scalp. Once the ambulance took her, I puked. She was okay, but it took a while to fully recover. That said, she was running. We can hardly ban kids from running outside during recess...
  17. Very odd. Probably came from a very stressed-out teacher with a muddled brain from the insane expectations put on her.
  18. We use Quicken to download and reconcile. I don't keep receipts anymore. We use our cc whenever possible to earn hotel points, so there would be way too many receipts to keep up with.
  19. Are you in a different time zone? If so, one of you might have still seen the prior day's. On a different note, I got today's with NO mistakes!!!
  20. What's great about your timesavers is that they don't cost any money!
  21. Really hoping to see some other tried & true timesavers!!!
  22. In-Home paid for itself within a month. I've to have had Amazon Prime forever. I'm all about saving time! And I usually save money as well...
