  1. Another vote for the Speed Queen. I bought if based on recommendations from the Hive. I love that machine. Diapers, barn clothes, workout clothes, garage clothes -- They all come out clean. And the wash cycle is about 30 minutes.
  2. I use CLE for elementary age math through 6th grade, then I switch to Saxon 7/6 with Saxon teacher DVDs.
  3. Perhaps Knowledge Quest? http://www.knowledgequestmaps.com/The-Star-Spangled-State-Book.html http://www.knowledgequestmaps.com/A-Presidential-Scrapbook.html
  4. If you want cheap and easy to follow, CLE offers 2 light units on research paper writing. I think they are LU 507 and LU 807. You would have to look at the website or call for the information.
  5. I bought a Speed Queen a couple months ago and I LOVE it. A normal wash cycle is 28 minutes. The clothes come out clean, and not in a tangled mess. I can select my water height/temp/and soak times if needed. It is bare bones basic, but a super washer. I can wash a King size quilt in mine. I recommend the Speed Queen to everyone. We do not have a local dealer, I bought mine online from a place that offered free shipping. It was $724, with free shipping from New York to a southern state.
  6. I used the BF history of the horse guide some last year. To be honest, I wasn't impressed. My dd didn't really enjoy the program either, although she enjoyed reading (and re-reading) all of the books.
  7. For cheap, I liked the cle research paper lightunit. It was quick, and easy enough for my dd to use to write a research paper for her coop class last semester.
  8. Have your DS take the CLE placement test. http://www.clp.org/store/by_grade/21
  9. Rubber cement. It smells awful, but it doesn't wrinkle the paper, and it is easy for little hands to use. Plenty of colored paper, cool scissors, file folders. Oh. And patience. Lol.
  10. I also use the Saxon teacher DVDs. We love them. They explain every problem in the book. I have not used the dive DVDs.
  11. My daughter uses Evan moor daily paragraph editing. You don't need to do it every day. My dd does a week in about 15 minutes.
  12. I have had a hard year dealing with medical issues in my family. I did jump ship on some of the programs you mentioned. I switched to KONOS , and I am enjoying this year. I went from having a sinking feeling and just get it dine to check a box, to let's learn something and have fun while doing it. It has been wonderful.
  13. My dd went from cle 507 to Saxon 7/6. She is not a mathy student. I bought her the Saxon teacher DVDs to go with the program. She is thriving on this set up. She still doesn't care for math, but she is understanding the concepts. Also, I don't have to teach her the lessons. I check everything.
