  1. We make this every Halloween -- Pumpkin Turkey "Ghoulash" with Caraway Noodles. It's always a hit. http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Pumpkin-Turkey-Ghoulash-with-Caraway-Noodles-240083
  2. We are enjoying: FIAR Right Start A Enriching our day by incorporating the seasonal crafts and activities from Festivals, Families and Food and All Year Round
  3. This is the version Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine use to tell the Cinderella story in the musical Into the Woods. PBS filmed a performance which is available on DVD or on-line, if I remember correctly, and the soundtrack is fabulous. The show combines several fairy tales and I loved it as a child (and I still do).
  4. :iagree: We've also found that you need just one coat, so you use less than with other brands of paint.
  5. We always do panettone in a nod to my Italian heritage and Salmon Quiche in a nod to my husband's heritage. We'll also do cinnamon rolls and fruit. Here's a recipe for the quiche: http://www.sofn.com/norwegian_culture/showRecipe.jsp?document=SmokedSalmonQuiche.html
  6. We love our Phil & Ted's. My four year old still rides in the front while my almost-three-year-old is in the back (we have the doubles kit and infant "cocoon" for when my second was a newborn) for ours. It's held up amazingly well for the 3 years we've used it. And we've always lived in urban areas where we walk everywhere, so it gets almost daily use.
  7. Both of our faves are from Ina Garten. One is chocolate with chocolate frosting and the other is a coconut cake. Delish!! I get requests for these each year for my kids'/husband's birthdays. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/beattys-chocolate-cake-recipe/index.html http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/coconut-cake-recipe/index.html
  8. I use the sugar cookie recipe from The Joy of Cooking. http://www.recipelink.com/mf/31/42108 And I also really love this recipe for sugar cookies using butter and cream cheese. The cream cheese gives these a little tang and the almond extract gives a little extra, different flavor, so they are certainly not tasteless! http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Cream-Cheese-Sugar-Cookies/Detail.aspx Enjoy!!
