  3. I will have a high schooler who is very much into sports. Can anyone tell me if be would be able to continue soccer and most importantly football? We are looming at the northeast Ohio area Thanks!
  4. :iagree: I would write them out for him and have him do them as copywork. If the problem still persists and you are pretty sure it is just laziness, I would most likely do something very similar to what boscopup said she would do. just my 2c
  5. I have a second grader and we do something very similar to what you have listed. I have found that slow and steady will win this race. As I add in a little more and a little more, my kiddos gain the necessary skills to become great writers. The thing about ps is that you have to put blinders on. Don't worry about what they are doing. Even though the kids can get words on paper, it doesn't always translate into the desired results in the long run. You are doing just fine!
  6. Is it possible for you to weave her spelling words into your other daily work? As a way of reinforcing her use of them? For example would it help if you chose five of her previous spelling words each day to use in her journal writing. If it is repetition she is needing, you could also make flash cards for each spelling list and give her a quick test on five words a day. If she could have the opprotunity to continue to use the new words, it could help in solidifying them in her long term memory. Hth, Renee
  7. :iagree: I have used and purchased many many many things. This upcoming school year we are going back to AO... It just works best for us
  8. Thank you ladies for such in depth answers!
  9. I'm curious, what about it did not work for your family? I have been considering it. I even own it! just haven't gotten around to looking through it.
  10. Thanks! I am not sure what to ask. Where would I find information about the different teaching techniques. I am at a loss for determining what is good music instruction....
  11. Hi, My DS (11) and DD (9) take piano, and have been for about a year now. We didn't look around when we started, so now I am curious as to what qualifies a good piano teacher. What are important things for them to learn? Should they be learning scales? My kids aren't. I have no clue how to evaluate what constitutes quality music lessons. Thanks, Renee
  12. Thanks my kids were just saying how they missed this show!
