put it down until a later time. there are sooo many good books i want my kids to read, but more than a few we have started just didnt interest them. then they start to tune out. you want to find one she cant wait to hear more of.

i would contact the sender first. i mistakenly sent a book that i dodnt know my child had drawn in. there were a few scribbles, not rendering the book unreadable and i just didnt think to look thru the pages before sending because the book was in such good condition on the outside. well, i got a message from pbk swap and it made me feel like i purposely sent a ruined book thru the mail. it left me feeling, well, not as good as if i could have worked it out with the recipiant.

i would just speak to the wig maker and ask that they be sensitive to your daughter. if you are reciving money maybe they can just give you one sum for all the hair instead of dividing it up by each bunch of hair...

for latin roots i discovered something called Visual Vocabulary. i love it! i just bought it last weekned and we started using it right away. the kids are enjoying it as well. they are 10, 8 and 5. it only takes about 10 minutes to do the lesson. you work on one (root)word a week. it not only talks about the latin and sometimes greek root, but they will grow in thier vocabulary. it uses pictures and it is done orally. which my kids love. they do not love to write, so workbooks are not a favorite. last weeks word was luminous. after going thru the cards i asked my son who just turned 5 what he thought i wanted when i ask him to illuminate the room. he said" put candlesticks everywhere" we all cracked up! he was right though and after he figured out the other way to illuminate the room, he went and turned on every light!

i would send a newborn oufit. you can usually get something cute, relatively inexpensive. i agree with the 1rst child baby shower, except if they are so spread apart in age that you have no baby equipment anymore.

i dont think it makes all the difference but certainly it can correlate. you need a balance. im like you, driven. i wasn't necessarily driven by my parents in every way. i was also never really a neat person. but i came to desire order, and so bec ame self motivated. my house was never a mess growing up, but not entirelt orderly either. we were 5 children with 2 working parents! setting an example is important and keeping children aware of responsibility. they can help, and learn no t] to take for granted.. thats what you want thecm to knowy7tgvter4r

i saw these weighted cat lap pillows at CHAP. was going to try and make one. some kids seem to stay seated at their desks longer, comforted by the weight on their lap. also a lot less obvious than walking around in a vest all day

totally worth the money. we did not use the dvd. its very east to teach, took us about 3 weeks to go thru the whole thing. my daughter still remembers the stories 5 months later. she uses the facts from x tales almost every day in her math, we were really struggling with the x tables and a friend showed me her x tales, i wasnt sure how it would go, but it really works! and dd loved it. she had begun to hate math, and now feels like she can do it! highly recommend. you can use it for multiple kids, and we found it used so we saved a little money. the dvd might be fun, but you do not need it!

i have 3 kids. 10, 8 and 5 we do history and science together. we do bible together and oldest does devotions on her own also. my oldest does teaching textbooks math, minimal help on my part. 8 yrs, we do a hands on math together, but she will move toward independance in math by the end of next year. they do language arts semi indepedant. the youngest is taught by myself and the older two in rotation. if i work with one, the other one works with him. this is what we aim for anyway, doenst always look quite like that, but we keep on it...
