  1. Go. If you've got family and you love them, go! There's not much more important and you may regret it. It's nice to 'ask' your mom, but maybe she's so involved that you could be her support and not ask her, just go and be with her. Sing songs to your grandma. [i sure wish I had more time with my grandparents to do just that.] Godspeed.
  2. I agree - hang in there! It's my 6th year of HSing and I still feel like a newbie [i do every year!]. Keep positive by not trying to do it all. Just get the basics done with as few tears as possible. Once you've got those under wraps, attempt more. For LA, First Language Lessons has been great for my kids [10,9,8]. Mathisfun.com and under that Math Trainer worked wonders for frustrations in Math - also they 'play' lots of numbers games online. I just started Spelling Workout this year and it's gone well so far - before that, I picked my own 10 words each week/child. For Science, let him read - then send him outside to study/have fun with nature. Ask questions but keep it to their interests - this way they will still be excited to learn. If not, you'll kill their wanting to learn instinct. Most of all, hang in there and good luck - we're all in this together!
  3. try mathtrainer - at mathisfun.com. You can set your own parameters and it's free.
