  1. Do you have this Amber? Could I look at it too? :) You're so helpful!
  2. Thankyou everyone!! Amber, I will definitely have to come over and have a look at those programs - thankyou so much! :)
  3. Hello! Can anyone help me choose? I have a Gr 2'er and a Gr 5'er (and a K'er) next year and I'd like to try IEW with my two older children. My 5'er has ability but reluctance to write and my 2'er has interest but not ability (yet) :) Which package/product would you think we should choose for our very first IEW year? I'd like to teach them together if I can. Thanks for your help! :)
  4. I am also looking for boxed/board games for phonics for the K-3 level :) Any suggestions?
  5. Can anyone suggest a board or boxed type game for a K'er for math? :) I have looked on Rainbow Resource and there are thousands of them! Looking for something that will appeal from Gr K-3. Thanks!
  6. My dd2 likes to do 'school' with the other girls by drawing all over their used books (the ones they finished with last year or so). She will spend a lot of time with a glue stick, a pair of scissors and some old gardening catalogues. We have a large dollshouse set that she will play with, or the Fisher Price Little People sets. Next year we are getting Zoobs and Wedgits and some felt sets to add to our 'keeping toddler busy' activities.
  7. Hello, hello! Nice to 'see' you too! lol. I should email you and say hi - pm your email to me! :)
  8. Hello - sorry, I haven't been on here for a while and missed this question! :) I did consider MFW ECC as well as WP CAW - looked and looked and looked at them! I really like them both - and there are pros and cons to both! The reason why I ended up choosing CAW over ECC are: - I like some of the resources - for eg, the map where you get to paste the cut-out child from the country onto the country they are from. My DD will just love that, and it will help with her jealousy over my middle DD doing MFW K! - I like the 'compassion for other children around the world' part of CAW. I know a lot of people skipped the 'plight' part of the program, but that was one of the drawcards for me. I really like how ECC has the mission stories in it, and CAW only has one I think. - We had just done WP AW and I was totally over animals and ecosystems/habitats and I couldn't face the science in ECC as it was ecosystems again! Also the text for it looks a bit over my DD's head. - That's probably it in a nutshell, but I must say that I have ECC earmarked for when all three of my girls are old enough to do ECC together. By then, we will be able to digest the science in it, and really enjoy every part of the program. We are going to follow on with MFW 1 next year too as, like you said, it is a natural flow-on and also I know that the phonics/reading/writing etc will pick up exactly where we left off. I LIVE with my SL, MFW, HOD and WP catalogues! Truly! I know how you feel about comparing them all amongst themselves! I know these inside out and upside down - I fell so blessed that these wonderful companies have done so much work for me! :) I find every year that I mix and match from these 4 companies.
  9. Are there any SL users on here? I am thinking that I might do Core 1+2 next year and add in some of the 'missing' books from Cores 1 and 2  I couldn't miss out on any good ones! ;) BUT I have a hands-on learner, and she will die without crafty bits and pieces to go with the Core/s. Can you suggest resources that match the themes? Supplements? Thankyou! :D
  10. Thankyou, I think that's what I will do. My dd2.5 has quite good dexterity so she should be fine with the normal sized ones. :)
  11. We are using MFW K and it is awesome! I will re-do it with my littlest DD when she is a K'er. I am also pretty sure my K'er will be doing MFW 1 next year for Grade 1.
  12. My advice: Go with Heart of Dakota! I don't know what age you are looking for, but I would choose HOD as their programs from Preparing upwards have the program marked with (I) Independent (for the kids to do by themselves), (S) Semi-Independent and then (T) Teacher-Directed. That way you could structure your day so that your child can do all the I boxes when you need a break and schedule the T boxes when you have free time. HTH!
  13. Do you think the Zoob Jr. will be out-grown too soon for an almost 3yo? I am tempted to get the normal sized Zoobs so that they last longer. Opinions? and what Zoob add-ons would you recommend? And WendyK, are those Wedgits that you are talking about?
