  2. What I use and love is Arnos fasteners they hold the pages beautifully and you can add or remove pages at will
  3. Have one child as meal helper each day and teach each child over around 8 on how to prepare one simple meal. Then eventually they will be able to make that meal independently. It makes a huge difference if oldest child cooks roast once a week, next cooks pasta, next makes baked potatoes and salad.. that is just about half the week of main meals covered.....
  4. Timetables And routines for everyone.
  5. So do I, but I have a feeling that it is just going to get worse. They need to lock down the whole state too many people escaped Melbourne when they gave 30 hours notice that they were going to lock down Melbourne. All the country towns are full of them. Too many people not abiding by the rules, thinking they are exceptions........ sigh
  6. Reward charts there are many ways of setting up a rewards chart, with my older children their goal was computer time. I had chores For different amounts of minutes . So washing kitchen windows was worth 30 minutes, vacuuming a room was 20 minutes, hanging out a load of laundry was 20 minutes. Mowing the yard 1 hour. These chores were optional extra things and they were very motivated to play on the computer so they would Do there extra chores very willingly for my twins it took about a year for me to teach them how a reward chart worked. They didn’t understand the concept of delayed rewards. they have a star chart with Velcro. When they get 10 stars they win a superdooper or a chocolate frog. Mostly their rewards are for completing schoolwork or very basic tasks like helping me tidy up the verandah no idea why the iPad keeps adding capital letters at random
  7. 484 new cases in Victoria today, a new record 2 deaths so something like 59% of people who get tested don’t follow instructions To stay home until they get their results. The premier said this is the reason that the numbers are still rising
  8. Yes twin 1and I have. We had to ring ahead and book to get the time to drive up and so the paperwork Was done. They did a high nasal swab, we sat in the car the whole time. both of us were negative. we were told results would take 5 days, but it only took 4.
  9. the person was fined $1600 for leaving a lockdown area
  10. I agree, plus I think of someone dies in the area they should be charged with manslaughter
  11. 374 new cases in Victoria, 3 more deaths Some stupid idiot had symptoms, got tested in Melbourne on Friday then drove somehow past the Roadblocks and travelled to my rural town, over 400 km.they stayed with relatives. they then went to just about every single shop and pub in the town and coastal village before they got their results last night. Positive. It has caused mad panic in the town. It is mostly elderly. Half the town wants to get tested and just about all the shops are closed.
  12. I sent the link to my oldest ds. He said from an aerodynamic perspective it is pretty obvious that a mask would be better. He is in Melbourne. He is using a industrial face mask with replaceable filters
  13. 275 new cases in Victoria today. 1 death. Reusable Face masks are going to be issued to all staff and students in schools. Teachers can chose not to wear the mask in the classroom at their own discretion but need to wear the mask when not actively teaching. Students need to wear a mask or scarf at all times unless eating. Only year 11 and 12 and special school students are back to school in Melbourne greater area. The rest are to be taught at home
  14. I haven't actually looked for a mask. so I don't know on availability. we have 1 mask that was given to us by the army when we evacuated from fires in the summer . I made bandannas for the twins, and will make some cloth masks this week. the government has provided links to patterns of masks. I haven't looked yet.
  15. Mandatory masks for the whole locked down area in Vic., so all of Melbourne plus the shire directly north of Melbourne. There will be a $200 on the spot fine after Wednesday for anyone older the age of 12 not wearing a mask. Also 80% of new cases over the last few days people have caught the virus at work.
  16. 317new cases in Victoria today. Highest number to date Level 4 restrictions may come in if numbers continue to climb
  17. so so sorry for your loss I helped organise my grandmothers funeral last Friday. Melbourne went into lockdown the day before so we ended up only being able to have 10 people there. It was awful. there was live streaming. Unknown to me where I was seated was the in line view to the coffin by the camera, so everyone live streaming saw mostly just me bawling my eyes out . several of my siblings texted me immediately after the funeral to tell me that they saw me crying and I set them off. 😞 I would have shifted the chair if I knew this beforehand.
  18. 270 new cases in Victoria Over 80 on hospital 21 on ventilation Outbreaks in nursing homes 😟 Outbreaks in a supermarket The number from the Islam school is now almost 150 Roadblocks going into Melbourne are apparently slowing down traffic by 3 + hours My kids and I are now guessing how many days until the whole state is back to lockdown. I am predicting by Saturday
  19. We have chooks, geese, Pigeons, budgies and a cockatiel
  20. 273 new cases in Victoria. 1 more death Many hospitals across Melbourne having 1 or 2 staff testing positive The premier also announced that only year 11 and 12 will be going back to school next week, other grades will have 1 week off then go back to school at home
  21. 216 new cases in Vic 1 death I am wondering how soon until the whole state is back on lockdown Was chacked at a roadblock leaving Melbourne to go home today. Has to show ID to prove I don't live in Melbourne, state reason for visiting, length I was in Melbourne and what suburb I had stayed in
  22. International arrivals to Australia to be capped at 4000 a week? I think. I am listening to the announcement right now
