  1. I have Dyslexia. Half the time I don't even see the spelling errors.
  2. no, no and no, But I live in a country that has a great government interest free student loan system, and all my children are eligible for living away form home student allowance. I would not know what we would do if we lived in a country like USA where there was no assistance for rural country students like we have here.
  3. Had twins case manager and her boss visit. It was the last time she will come as the twins officially do not have a case manager any more. :hurray: They asked us if we would be willing to consider taking one of the twins siblings ( boy age 7)...... we are not sure.... so hard to say no to giving a child an chance at a better life but the twins have been a huge job............
  4. Here to change registration to a new owner you have to have a roadworthy certificate that is given out by a registered mechanic. Used cars are either sold with one, or the new owner has to get one. If the car is sold with one than it has been gone over with a fine tooth comb as there are stiff fines for mechanics giving them out and faults found in the car. If it is sold without one then the buyer is responsible to get the repairs done on the car and get the certificate before they an register the car. Stops the exact situation that op is talking about.
  5. I was taught aeiou And that was the extent of phonics. I was right In the whole language age. I didn't know any phonics at all until I started homeschooling.
  6. I am the shortest (appart from the twins)

  10. I have never heard that pain meds are meant to take all the pain away, but rather just take the edge off it.
  11. Old people in their 90s loose their body fat and become basically skin and bone. It is just the way it is. They also tend to eat less as they really don't burn much energy ( in previous life I was an aged care worker)
  12. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Boys :toetap05: they are a never ending worry it doesn't stop when the get older. My ds20 just rang me ( 30 minutes ago) to tell me he was in a head on car crash and his car is totaled. Other car has claimed full responsibility was cutting the corner in remote rural dirt road deeply mountained clifff on one side type of thing. Ds20 was on the inside of the corner.
  13. I saw a investigation program into insurance fraud. Apparently this is one of the questions on some work cover forms. In the investigation program it uncovers a person who was killed in a work accident the but was revived. The insurance denied his claim for injury because it wasn't fatal enough. Arrrg! having huge trouble with auto spelling fix.
  14. We were forced into it by a failed school system. I was anti homeschooling.
  15. Not so much cloud seeding here in Aus but rather the intense heat that rises with the smoke etc into the atmosphere with a huge firestorm pulls cooler damp air from the coast, thus creating a big rain event, which puts out the fire. Has to be a big firestorm though
  16. :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: tonight I will cry in remembrance of a lovely boy full of life :crying: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
