10 Good
  1. Hi, I know there are some folks here from New Orleans. My family and I are going to NOLA for Christmas. There are going to be 10 of us there and we'd like to get some photos taken. We are looking for a portrait studio or a inexpensive photographer who is in or within walking distance of the French Quarter. Our hotels are in the French Quarter and only one family has a car. Does anyone know of a studio or photographer? Thanks SO much! I have looked and looked online and called a number of places, without much luck.
  2. Honestly, they aren't much into reading too much. This will be for when we read together. I will have to look up your suggestions. Now that is a list! Will have to go through the list. Thanks.
  3. Sorry for not clarifing. Really all of the above, but more the later.
  4. I know there are readers out there. What are your favorites? Thanks!
  5. I am thinking about next school year and wanting to put together a reading list for our kids who will be in 9th and 11th grade. What are your favorites? Suggestions? Thanks!
  6. thanks for the tip on cafe de monde and it sounds like the d-day museum is a must. thanks for the tip. we will be sure to skip bourbon street for sure. yeah, too bad we could meet up. oh, sounds lovely! thanks!
  7. Yay! Looks like cafe du monde is a must. I have had 5 people recommend it already. Thanks everyone for the info. I kind of want to get some ideas as SIL always plans for everyone, usually without talking to us first. Oh, our kids will be 16 & 14. Cousins about the same age. Keep the ideas coming. :bigear: Also, would LOVE to ride a steam/river boat, tell me which ones are good.
  8. looks like we are going to new orleans for christmas (2012). i am looking for places to go: museums resturants music sites. tell me, tell me where's the best places are. (we have older kids.) thanks!

  10. Ladies, thanks! Jabberwocky...I like the idea of a clock nearby. May have to hang one up. He isn't slow with much of anything else, just school work. I will try the praise with him. Parrothead...thanks. Will try that too.
  11. Our son (13) is a slow worker. I have tried different things I thought would help him move along faster on his work. Do any of you have any suggestions? The new school year is just around the corner.
  12. My hubby is a former Marine. Like everyone has already mentioned, life in the USMC isn't a piece of cake. That being said if our son were to join any branch of military I would hope it would be the Marines. I would feel like he was safer and better trained. I was sure glad when hubby got out though. :grouphug:
  13. Oh! Someone told me to have them eat jello in powder form when their nose os bleeding.
  14. DD has been getting them too. It's very dry here so doc told us a humidufier, vaseline in the nose will help. Last year she had them so bad it bleed (BAD) for three hours straight, the seperate days. It freaked me out, I called the ER twice. They kept telling me it's ok and what to do.
