  1. Triclosan is an antibacterial chemical used to prevent gingivitis. http://www.fda.gov/forconsumers/consumerupdates/ucm205999.htm
  2. My dd has this one (ESV Grow! Bible), and loves it. http://www.christianbook.com/esv-grow-bible/9781433528767/pd/528767?item_code=WW&netp_id=895156&event=ESRCG&view=details I am not a fan of using a different translation for children. I figure if kids hundreds of years ago just had the KJV version, and learned it well, then my kids would be fine with an adult level translation as well. :001_smile:

  4. ;) Two player games to play just me and dw, as well as games to play with the whole family. Dw enjoys Farkle, Phase 10, Cranium (green and blue cards), and Hand & Foot. I enjoy Texas Hold Em, Monopoly, Chess, Cranium (Red and Yellow cards), and Scrabble. With the girls we play Uno, Sorry, Go Fish, Chess (both dd6 and dd4 working on learning it), Battleship, Candyland, and Uno Moo. DD4 also LOVES puzzles (complex ones!). We just recently bought Sorry and Battleship. We also ordered Tsuro, Settlers of Catan, and a puzzle game called Perplexus Original.
  5. We just ordered Tsuro, along with a couple others. I hear good things about it.
  6. We are on the lookout for some new games (board or card). We want games to play with the older girls, as well as games DW and I can play with just the two of us. Any suggestions?
  7. We have drawers under our bed. It's kind of like a dresser, but frees up the floor space.
  8. Don't beat around the bush. If you want something, just say it.
  9. I went ahead and volunteered for the assignment in Omaha. Now it is just a waiting game to see if I get selected for it.
  10. It isn't so much a choice as an opportunity to volunteer for a specific job. Is your husband enlisted? I am, FWIW.
  11. I am in the military, not the Army though. :001_smile: And I just discovered that the Tampa job I am not actually qualified for, so that does narrow it down a bit. ;) I have lived in: Bangor, Maine Jacksonville, North Carolina Okinawa, Japan Amarillo, Texas Honolulu, Hawaii I personally would prefer a change of pace from where I am now. Thanks everyone for all your insight!
  12. What would you say was more humid: Honolulu Omaha Tampa ??
  13. Thanks everyone! Yes, I would be in the military still. And yes, we would be moving from Hawaii. We REALLY want Colorado Springs, but we are thinking it is pretty unlikely to happen.
  14. We flew in October and the Theater Security Administration patted me down. It was uncomfortable but I wouldn't say traumatizing.
  15. If you had the choice to live in the Tampa area for 3 years, or the Omaha (well, closer to Bellevue I suppose) area for 4 years, which would you choose, and why?
  16. The Confederate States of America was a nation-state that had (one of) it's capital(s) in Virginia... I imagine that wasn't a choice though. ;)
  17. Can he get a (second) part-time job to pay for it? I wouldn't go into debt for it.

  19. I never got that feeling from Shawn Johnson, she always seemed so happy and excited just to be there.
  20. http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/the-us-gymnastics-team-are-basically-the-movie-me?s=mobile :- P I am glad I am not the only person who thought that!
