  1. I do think this is a significant change just from our experiences....is she having any breathing issues? My ds had changes like this after the inhaler....he wasn't having any issues that I could see but further testing said that his lungs were not growing at the rate his body was. He had allergy issues too....we started shots and he is doing much better.
  2. will come off on sheets for about a week. I made her sleep on an old towel.
  3. hot water + 3-4 packets of red kool-aid (my dd likes cherry), dip hair in cup for 5 mins......rinse. will NOT wash out......my dd has extremely long hair......she did a section underneath from root to end. It will not wash out! She is now in the process of growing it out and it will probably take 3 years as she only trims her hair, never would cut it off short.
  4. Can I join? I feel like we didn't even have Christmas this year.....flu, bronchitis, some kids with both! This is day 26! I just want to go on vacation.....somewhere warm! And I never want to hear another person cough again!!!!
  5. Since she has horrible allergies, I would go to an Allergy and Asthma Doc. My son got tremendous relief from his allergies by going to one and then they could keep an eye on his asthma also.
  6. Going to Phoenix for a few days next weekend because of a child's activity....what is there to do during free time? We will be staying close to Sky Harbor airport. Thanks!
  7. We have Directv and I don't like the bills either......this is what we do. You can put your account on hold for up to 6 months, I can't remember how often but we do it once a year. We go without TV from about the end of April to September. We don't watch much TV during the summer so we get Netflix during this time. You can change your package as often as you want......you can do it online but if you call they have a cheaper plan than what you see on the internet. We change packages weekly during football season. This way we still get to watch certain things that we enjoy but the average bills over the year are much better to swallow!
  8. I don't think they are overreacting. My dd suffered 2 concussions.....yes it is a pain to make up the work.....boring when you are not feeling too bad but totally worth it in the end. My friend's dd suffered a concussion and went back too quickly....suffered 2 more.....she will never play contact sports again! In the long run.....rest is best!
  9. My ds, 9th grade this year. Reads soooooooo ssloooowwwwwww! Comprehension is decent but he has got to pick it up or will do terrible on all the testing in High School. 10. Ok.....I'm trying a new pancake recipe and it calls for 3/4 cup of cornmeal which I don't usually buy. I bought Yellow Cornmeal....it has little black specs in it. Is this normal? bugs? Tell me I can use it or do I have to take it back to the store? Thanks!!

  13. We were in Washington DC for 10 days and did only one thing outside DC....Mt Vernon. It was our most favorite day. We were there from opening to closing and could have easily went back a 2nd day! Definitely go....but I would want to be there the whole day.
  14. Did you know that you can change your package every day? We thought about getting rid of it altogether but then found out we could just play around with the packages. We have the cheapest package during the summer.....we don't watch a lot of tv then. Right now we have the $50 (approx.) package. When my dh wants to watch the game and we need more sports channels we up the package a few hours before the game and call or get online and go back to the cheaper package after it is over. The bill looks crazy sometimes with all the changes but for us it is worth it. Just a thought before you dump it.
  15. Tell me everything you know and enjoy about Glacier. We are trying to decide on a vacation for next summer. We just bought a camper and want to go, go, go! How many days to stay? What to do? Best campgrounds? Best time to go between Memorial Day and the middle of August? (I hate crowds! :001_smile:)
  16. Ok, Here is the recipe..... Question is: How would you season the chicken to be grilled? Wild Roasted Chicken Wraps 1 box Uncle Ben's long grain and wild rice 2 cooked chicken breasts Ranch dressing Shredded lettuce Flour tortillas Cook Rice. Grill Chicken and cut into thin strips. Make your own wrap....chicken, lettuce, rice, dressing
  17. I would go to the doc and get a x-ray. My dd hurt her toe....she complained for 2 days before I took her in....broke her big toe at the growth plate and had to wear a boot for 6 weeks!
  18. Stayed here......http://www.marriott.com/reservation/rateListMenu.mi They have a shuttle that takes you to the Metro.....buy the Metro week pass....totally worth it! We ate there hot breakfast in the morning, ate out for lunch and did sandwiches in our room in the evening (suites are small but microwave and refrigerator. We loved Mount Vernon, Smithsonian, Library, Supreme Court, National Archives, Capitol, Monuments, Fords Theatre, White House. We did all the tours....go to National Parks website and look for cheap tickets...Washington Monument, National Archives......then you don't have to stand in line...........we got a personal tour at the Archives and he took us in the back to look at the documents....we got to jump in line instead of wait! PM me if you have any more questions....I could get my dd scrapbook out to refresh my memory.
  19. Thanks for all your responses...I called the school and they said I didn't have to file to qualify for their scholarships but she encouraged me to do it anyway. I filed.....glad that is over!
  20. What where your reasons for not applying? Just second guessing our decision. Thanks!
