  6. Not the responsible "pay off my debt and put some away" choice? I'd book a trip to the UK and Ireland. Maybe I'd spend the winter holidays with my friend in Dublin. After re-visiting and visiting places on the isles, I'd finally hit Holland, Scandinavia, and then Iceland on my way back to the states.
  7. The US just elected 8 new scientists to Congress, including an ocean expert, a nurse, and a biochemist. Some are women. ?
  8. People can always decline receiving a sticker. When my kids were little, I used to give mine to them. As anything, not everyone will like them. I'm just in the camp that does. ?
  9. That was from LA County and that particular one was probably from an absentee/ vote by mail packet. I got the sticker with my absentee ballot. I thought Alaska's wins hands down.
  10. I'm not, but she was. I think that's why it was so memorable to me -- it wasn't something that others in my area made. I love to see your aunt's recipe!
  11. We'll be home this year! (normally we're at MILs) One thing I miss from my childhood that a relative would make was oyster dressing. I want to make it this year. Unfortunately, I don't have her recipe but this is somewhat similar: https://emerils.com/121366/new-orleans-oyster-dressing
  12. I was going to post a, "Show me your I Voted! sticker" thread but CNN beat me to pictures from across the US. Here's the link: https://www.cnn.com/2018/11/06/us/voting-stickers-50-states-trnd/index.html Mine is there (CA). If you don't see yours, post it!
  13. I vaguely recall needing one long ago. After that they just confirmed it against the ballet that would be sent to me. I vote by mail now, so no ID needed.
  14. No Frontier, formerly Verizon Fios users? We have Frontier. $77/ month for internet only. 150 mbps.
  15. I don't know if I would remarry as it falls into the realm of anything is possible to me. Having said that, I would not actively be seeking another marriage. I do see myself seeking companionship-- but I don't think marriage is the only way to have that.
  16. Every night for at least 8 months, it was the only nighttime book the then toddler now 15yo would let me read. I’m pretty certain i can still recite it from memory. ?
  17. https://www.cnet.com/news/amazon-opens-its-23-dollar-kids-book-box-to-all-prime-members/ Hmm... ?
  18. Nope. It would definitely be gone. I'm guessing this library doesn't have individual study rooms you could use with a door that locks?
  19. Thanks for your posts. I have been interested in Dollar Shave, Ipsy, and Birchbox. Loot crate is out of my price range, but I love their stuff. Has anyone here heard/ tried Cosmic Bento? It seems they do graphic novels.
  20. Schools by my work start August 9. They keep shifting the start/ end dates and vacation dates here to try to align with the middle and high schools. Dd's new charter starts on 8/20. Her former one was scheduled to start on 8/15.
  21. Corollary, please do not ask your public librarian(s) to sponsor free readings/programs/ advertisements without their approval.
  22. Do you sign up for a monthly box/crate/package of something pre-chosen? If so, what? i recently signed myself up for a yarn of the month box as an attempt at self care.
