  1. I haven't read the whole thread yet and I have no idea what you are supposed to tip but I tip 20%.
  2. I use my google calendar and all google stuff easily on my iPhone, no problem.
  3. I thought my droid was fine until my husband got an iPhone and I then needed to run over my droid with my car. It is nice that my iPhone and iPad are synced. You will like it, too.
  4. I don't know about pushing anything back in, I will ask him when he's within earshot again. He is working and oh, have I mentioned we are in the middle of an IRS audit? The auditor is on day 4 of her fact finding mission. She is awfully sweet, which is making this easier, but we are spending a lot of our workday chasing down records, files, bank statements and such and passing them to the sweet IRS auditor in our conference room. :( My stressed out husband probably doesn't even know if he is coming or going. We have nothing to hide, we don't do anything wrong and have an equally sweet accountant who will be stepping in to help during the questions phase of the audit so I know it will be a-okay, but we are still awfully crazy stressed and insanely busy. The coincidence of our being audited and my John hobbling around with a hernia just hit me. That is related somehow..... Anyway, thanks for all the help, I will keep you all updated on all the fun! ;)
  5. He is sitting here in front of me in my office so I just told him that, thank you. The nurse at the surgeon's office told me to get him to the ER if it gets worse or changes. I would have to shoot him in the head to get him to the ER, so this will be interesting... <_<
  6. Thanks, all of you! We have an appointment and soooooo don't have time for this. He's grumpy, I'm so busy that now I'm just making new stacks of folders on the floor next to my desk, and I believe we've both hit our Advil quota for the week in one morning. Yes, I just made this about me. :confused1:
  7. My husband has had a hernia happening in his lower abdomen for years and has finally lifted at the gym a little too much and it is very painful. We have no primary physician and really don't want one. What specific kind of dr would a primary physician refer him to after saying, "Yep, that's a hernia?" We'd like to cut out the beginning of the process if we can. Thanks!
  8. Yes. No problem. I would do it in a heartbeat. I've lived in doublewides, buy and sell them all the time and yes, I buy them sitting on property as an investment. Sounds like a fantastic idea! Can you tell I'm jealous?
  9. Super fun, thanks for asking! Celebrated in the cul-de-sac with the world's most fabulous neighbors. Their are probably a zillion kids and we actually got sick of the fireworks, there was just so much of it. We set up tables in front of my house and everyone brought all the food with red and blue food coloring, I made bruschetta from the beautiful tomatoes delivered from the farmers' co-op, their were lots of popsicles. I bought myself a brand new GoPro camera and we all took turns wearing it on our heads with the headstrap to capture everything from lots of different perspectives. It was fantastic fun.
  10. We have Virgin and are very happy. We all have iPhones and pay $50 month each for unlimited talk, text and data, no contract. Such a nice switch from Verizon! They were tacking on new fees constantly!
  11. If you are selling , paint them or leave them alone. The only thing dating them is the decorative woodwork running along at the top and the 'golden oak' color, but it is awfully pretty. If you simply change the counter top it will update the look a lot. I sell and flip a lot of houses every year and to totally update a kitchen, painting is the thing right now. Refinishing is a ton of trouble and won't make a big difference. Pretty picture!
  12. I don't really gamble, dance or enjoy Elvis memorabilia...any memorabilia come to think of it. I do drink, though, but I don't like the feeling I got when I got to Las Vegas. I did enjoy Vegas when we got off the strip. Red Rocks is FABULOUS! The parks and outdoor activities away from the Vegas strip are soooooo much fun and I am so glad I was forced to spend a week there so I could get bored and rent a car and venture out. I think it is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. I rode a donkey, a horse through a canyon, I hiked and ate great food. I recommend it.
  13. I've never heard of crown financial and I'm not a Dave Ramsey fan and I still say go with the 15 year. If something comes up that you must borrow money for it, you can! You probably won't borrow any and will save a ton of money. 'Near to me' state schools are great.
  14. Oh, please let me know your thoughts when you've read Aslan. The author is interesting, too. I heard an interview with him on npr.
  15. Thanks for the group hug, I'm sure I need it. :) I will join the group! Thanks!
  16. I am having a mucho stressful day. Actually, on a 1 - 10 scale, my last 2 weeks have been 8 simply because no one is sick or dead so I can't give it higher with any clean conscience. I've been getting home at night after work and of course, eating out because my husband and I are too stinking tired to do anything else. Two nights last week we were too tired to eat out so we ate a slice or a bite of whatever we could reach in the fridge and went to bed. I start putting my pajamas on as I walk through the house so I don't even have to stop! It's been stressful and hard. I can't wait to get in bed and read. It would be such a nice distraction to hear what you all are planning to read or are reading now. I just read Jesus of Nazareth by Reza Aslan. It was fascinating. I'm not religious and it was interesting to read about the historical Jesus from the perspective of a man who was Muslim, became a Christian and then became Muslim, again. I'm anxious to read his book on Muhammad. I am presently reading A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki and it is mesmerizing. I am reading it because her newest novel is on the Man Booker Prize list and when I went to order it, I saw this one and decided to read it first. I'm about half way through it and I am loving every second of it. I love the characters and I think I'm going to miss them when it is over. I read Elizabeth Gilbert's list of books that have changed her as a writer and now have Want Not, Hyperbole and a Half, and Mixing Minds waiting for me to finish what I'm reading now. I read her Signature of All Things several months ago, it was good. How Not to be Wrong:The Power of Mathematical Thinking will be here Wednesday. I am awfully excited about it, I hope it is as good as it sounds. I am listening to Think Like a Freak in the car and am almost done with it. It is good.
  17. This is awesome. I've read several books on Buddhism and enjoy learning about it. I will have tons of questions when I'm home from work and have time to think. However, I frequent a Thai restaurant nearby and there is a Buddha statue with lots of gifts around it. Every day it is different: a bottle of water, some change, some crackers, a little pile of candies, etc. Are they offering gifts to him? Why? Can I leave some, too? Christy
  18. I would pay her to leave. Since they didn't hire her and do appropriate contracts, they need to bite the bullet and pay her to leave. Sometimes it has to be done and you mark it up as an education expense since you "got schooled." They could actually hire a lawyer to help them do it so there would be a mediator. She would be more likely to be reasonable if an outsider got involved.
  19. The wraps JUST DON'T make any sense on any level. One person I know was selling pads that go on the bottom of your feet to soak up toxins. I can't remember what company it was. Nice.
