  1. “I don’t love you anymore†is a favorite. Kellie Pickler: “The best days of your life.†These all make a good playlist during a breakup!
  2. The oddest piece for me was an interview with the mom of one of rhe women. She moved shortly after her daughter went missing, and changed her phone number as part of the move. I would work very hard to keep a phone number that my missing daughter might use to reach out to me.
  3. I am so sorry-your poor pup! I hope the vet can clean out the bites, give him some antibiotics and he recovers quickly. We don’t go to the dog parks because of these issues. Irresponsible people playing Candy Crush while their dog rips up other people’s well-behaved pets.
  4. It is insane. Our dmv doesn't accept the license they issued you as ID. Huh?
  5. If your dd is in school, she should access mental health services through school. If is often free, and they are used to seeing young adults who are dealing with childhood issues coming into play now that they have distance from home. I am sure it is overwhelming from r dd to consider taking that step-perhaps offering to make the appointment and accompany her to the first session would help. It sounds like she is protecting herself while still trying to maintain family. Her stress must be off the charts. Your husband's inability to be the parent is quite a burden for you. As a parent, we must be responsible for our own behaviors, past and present. He has wronged your daughter, refuses to accept his responsibility, refuses to take steps to improve his behaviors, and expects your dd to tolerate it. Nope. When he cleans up his own side of the street, he can begin making amends and rebuilding trust. Why would she possibly want him there? His demands are outrageous. If he won't get help, please see someone yourself to figure out what your next steps can be.

  7. Oh no. That is heartbreaking. I am so sorry. : (
  8. Thank you to everyone. I am always so grateful for the minds and experiences of the Hive. I am taking time to research each idea, including those in the previous thread mentioned, so I can work out the delicate line of what/when/how much information. And while I normally do try to walk alongside quietly, the house is now on fire, and I am not comfortable doing that. I don't want to offer up too much of this person's privacy, so please trust my judgment. Again, thank you.
  9. Prayers for your sh and for you. Know many are with you as you sit through this.
  10. Thank you-I am passing on some of these ideas. I know he has had extensive thyroid testing, among many others. Ketamine provided improvements and he was crushed when it was not sustainable and finally stopped working at all. And yes, huge expense, not reimbursed by insurance at all ☹ï¸. ECT is $2000 a visit, 3x per week. Insurance is expected to reimburse, but doctors will not accept insurance. He has to cash pay every visit in advance. I am looking into all of your suggestions-thank you. And Catwoman-thank you, but I can't imagine you or anyone else would do anything else. It makes me so sad that so many families are in this position. It is disgraceful that it.is.so.hard.
  11. Good thoughts and prayers for this difficult period.
  12. Family member is a very bright, hard working 30 yr old man who has fought depression for many years. Many medication trials with varying short term successes. Depression always returns, often worse. Therapy. Hit a deep depression period about a year ago, and has not come out of it. Has had to leave much loved job and go on temp disability due to inability to function productively-which, of course, causes deeper depression. Finally tried ECT as a last resort. No improvement. So how do we help?? There is no doctor who seems INVESTED in this young man. He has spent tens of thousands of dollars, and seems to get passed from one doctor to another with a shrug. He has been told flat out by a couple that they have no other treatment ideas to offer. I want to do research and network and offer something, or someone. Find a doctor for him who will take on this puzzle and be genuinely, compassionately interested and will not quit until this young man improves. Offer some HOPE. I am exploring the NAMI website and resources tonight. Any ideas appreciated. I have research fatigue and am sure there is some obvious avenue I am missing.
  13. If it is any comfort, I did this in a big way after taking a family member to a new doctor. I disliked the doctor for a number of reasons, and outlined them in an email to the doctor who provided the referral. And sent it to the wrong doctor. Who then called and left me a not-so-lovely voicemail. I am careful to the point of paranoia now.
  14. We have had varying degrees of success with insurance at CVS Minuteclinic. I had no problem when I went. My son has twice been told they don't take insurance. :confused1: I hope you can be reimbursed!!
  15. Thank you all! We are home, she is eating ice cream :) Doctor anticipates the nerve block will wear off in a couple more hours, so enjoying the happiness now! I am really grateful for the peace your thoughts and prayers gave me today.
  16. As this is out of character, I would continue to reach out to her. Notes and cards by mail, nothing heavy, just 'thinking of you" or "missing you". Light reminders the porch light is on. :grouphug: :grouphug:
  17. I hope he is/has recovered well and quickly!
  18. Thank you all. It calms my nerves to know she is in your prayers, so greatly appreciated.
  19. In the scheme of things, she is lucky. She was thrown from a horse into concrete and the worst of it is a smashed arm. Surgery is today. I know it will be fine, but I would so appreciate prayers for her safety and healing.
  20. Employer is a sleazeball. I am sure this is not an accident. (And it is a CPA firm 😮) Trying to keep somewhat calm and wait for them to fix it. I would like to file a complaint with the State, but he needs this job so all I can do is pray. But my fury is blinding.
  21. Dd needs surgery in a few days for a badly broken arm. Stressful but manageable. Not manageable is spending my day, while at work (where I AM expected to be, you know, WORKING) fielding eleventy phone calls from the CT scan center and surgical center and doctors office informing me that her health insurance company has stated that insurance was terminated for all employees of her fathers employer effective 5/1! 😳😡. And phone calls and texts to and from her father while he tries to get answers from his employer, who seems to be trying to cover up that they failed to pay the premiums, despite collecting them from employee paychecks. I am trying not to lose it.
  22. Please know your daughter is in my prayers and you are all surrounded by love from many.
