  1. OH! I thought that it was shipping out this past fall. When I spoke to them a few months ago, they said I had to specifically request the Dragonfly one if I wanted it over the Macaw. Hmmm. Kelly
  2. I know I've seen it posted on here before and I spent a good bit of time trying to locate the info, but I just couldn't. So here's the question that I'm sure has been asked before: Which chapters are skipped in the Miller Levine Macaw biology book for regulars and then for honors on the Kolbe syllabus? I found a thread that had the old Dragonfly chapters skipped, but I was sure I had seen at least one post with the new Macaw ones. Thanks!
  3. That's my worry too. For my oldest, who is a good and avid reader, I'm not worried. But for my less enthusiastic reader, I'm not so sure he will be ready for the Great Books in high school if he basically only reads the assigned books and a few twaddle-ish books.
  4. Yes, the scope and sequence is quite a bit different. I have both editions and prefer the 2nd, but I often feel in the minority in that opinion of the people who have read both. I waffle between Charlotte Mason (AO/MA) and LCC. I am very drawn to Charlotte Mason but with 5 boys, LCC is much easier for me to implement.
  5. Does anyone follow LCC fairly strictly? And particularly, has anyone used the scope and sequence successfully for high school? We've used it pretty strictly for the past 3 years, but as my oldest is nearing high school, I just want to make sure he is prepared.
  6. Anyone up for discussing Hicks' curriculum outline or how to use it in your homeschool?
  7. I have been looking at the workbook. Does it include an answer key?
  8. Thanks for the link! That looks like a great deal. So that has everything you need, it punches and binds? Kelly
  9. which one did you buy? i am debating on what brand/model to buy. Kelly
  10. I am combining history and science. I wanted a 3 year history cycle because my kids are all 3 years apart so they would start 1st grade in the Ancients. I picked out my spine and then I have living books appropriate for each level to read also. Science is still up in the air as far as doing something formal or continuing with our nature study/student directed science. Kelly
  11. LOL! not really. I was going to send an email but their phone number was right at the top of their website so it was less work to call. I really want to order that book now!
  12. I called Memoria Press and the lady that I spoke to said that the only editing was punctuation and that sort of thing. That they didn't take out any of the chapters or stories.
  13. Thank you for posting this! I was hoping to use those two books when we are on the American history part of our history cycle. Much less expensive than buying them both from Nothing New Press!
