  1. The biggest drawback is driving. I live between a small town and huge city. I'm 15 minutes from all the shopping that I personally need. My friends who live out in the country drive 45 minutes to an hour to get to co-op twice a week, grocery stores are an hour away, doctors visits, therapy services, etc are all a drive of at least an hour. For families with kids who want to have any sort of social life, play sports etc OR If you have kids that have special needs and need to visit therapists, then living in the country means driving A LOT. I grew up in the country, and really loved it, however there's no way I would trade driving 2 to 3 hours every day to get places for living 15 minutes from amenities at this point in my life.
  2. No major diet changes. She turned 18 this summer, so maybe hormones?
  3. She is halfway through a bottle of this, so maybe we should keep it up for a bit longer
  4. 13. All before age 27. I've been in the same house for 20 years.
  5. She has normal college student stress. Walks the dog about 2 miles a day.
  6. Normal menstrual cycle, no rash, no history of any sort of illness at all. She hasn't gotten a cold in 5 years. The last time she was actually sick she was 13 and got tonsillitis. Always feels fine
  7. My 18-year-old daughter has always had thin hair and it appears to be getting even thinner and is very concerning to her. hey doctor's visit with blood work showed no problems so I'm looking for some sort of shampoo or treatment that might help. I've always had crazy thick hair so I have no experience in this area. Do any of the shampoos or other topical treatments out there really help?
  8. For me these things are not related. I'm terrible at directions and get lost really easily. I'm good at card games and good at mechanical things, I can take things apart and put them back together as well as run all kinds of equipment. I've always had to think a moment to tell my right for my left. My visual/spatial skills are meh and Iactually have to move things around a room in order to figure out where they go and I'm not musical at all. My DH is an engineer and it's good at directions, and I don't think he's ever been lost. He can quite literally fix anything and has perfect visual spatial skills and is highly musical. *Shrug* So-- I just think different people have different skill sets that are not necessarily related.
  9. I use Jarrow, Thorne, Rainbow Lite brands.
  10. Does anyone here have cough variant asthma? I have been dealing with this for a decade, but my usual treatments are not working. I am on my third trial inhaler and I just cannot quit coughing. Having a cough during Covid is NOT a good thing. I take allergy meds and singulair in addition to a daily inhaler. I used Breo for years, but it just quit working. I have tried Symbicort and Dulera, but not luck. I did a round of oral steroids, which worked, but 3 days after stopping I am coughing again.
  11. When we put in wood look time, I brought home over 150 samples before we found one that worked. I would say keep looking.
  12. Update-- My local school district has been back to in person classes for 3 weeks. There are roughly 10,000 people in the district both students and teachers. They've had 12 confirmed cases with no in classroom spread. Masks work! I live in an area that is considered a hotspot, with a declining but still high positive rate.
  13. I would put out a second litter box in the new place and leave both litter boxes available for up to 2 months. Once you see that the cat is using the second litter box regularly you can try removing the first. Make sure the second litter box doesn't require the cat to travel really far from where they normally hang out. For example the cat normally hangs out in the living area of the house, but you move the litter box to the basement.
  14. At my kid's current ages, if we had a BB gun, it would be in his/her room. ( Ages 11 up) If I had younger kids, it would be somewhere else. All of my kids are nationally competitive in shooting sports, so we skip silly BB guns.
  15. Update-- The local district has had approximately 80% of their student return (high schools have about 1,500 students each). And the first two weeks they had 10 students identified with Covid-- so far there has been no spread from those students to other classmates. So students are still catching the virus outside of school but it appears that in school it isn't spreading. The district has 100% mask compliance. My area is generally anti-mask and citizens frequently refused to wear them even though it is mandated, but the schools are enforcing the policy and it seems to be working.
  16. I am looking at bioskin masks, what masks have you purchased that you like?
  17. Thank you! I'm pulling out my writing with skill and reading the blog linked above
