  1. At this moment, my quilt is only 25 votes short of being in second place. I am happy with second! Please vote for my quilt!
  2. You're welcome. Would you vote on my quilt today? You can read about it in this thread here on the WTMF.
  3. Yes, here is the link to Motivated Moms in the App Store. No code is needed. It is $4.99 today only.
  4. Thank you, all! Second place is fine, too. I plan to give away the Gift Certificate on my blog when I win!
  5. The Motivated Moms Planner is $3 off through Sunday, costing a whopping $5. This is a great time to get a feel for this planner. I like it because it schedules out so many chores in a doable amount everyday and leaves the weekends almost free. It also comes in several different formats. Use the code MOTHER at checkout at Motivated Moms!
  6. Decided to go ahead with Notgrass Exploring America, adding in MapTrek for mapping exercises, along with A Patriot's History of the United States on CD.
  7. My sentiments exactly. I, too, am an avid quilter and do exactly what lisamarie does above. Shout Color Catchers works amazingly well at "catching" color in the washer. For fabric that I do prewash (clothing), I serge the ends with the fabric still folded together lengthwise. This makes ironing after washing SO much easier. I have a quilt in Quilting Gallery's quilt contest this weekend. If you'd like to have a look and vote for my quilt, I'd appreciate it. May I also encourage you to not vote for others even though you have 4 votes? Thank you! Mrs.Hearts
  8. I have a quilt in a contest hosted by the Quilting Gallery this weekend. Would you mind taking a peek and voting for my quilt {and preferably not for 4 quilts}?!? I'd love to win a gift certificate for more fabric!! :001_smile: My quilt is named Mrs.Star. She is a queen-sized quilt and now hangs on my living room wall. This is what she looks like. Here is where you go to vote: Quilting Gallery You can read more about my quilts at Busy Hands Quilts. Thank you! Mrs.Hearts
  9. I found "Journey Into Africa" on the Lamppost Publishing site, and it looks very good.
  10. I should also clarify that my daughter is interested in the history more than the geography of the Eastern Europe, Asia, and Africa, so I am looking for programs that emphasize history over geography.
  11. Thank you, too! The little-known gems are exactly what I am looking for, and I wouldn't have thought to look at R&S. Any other gems out there, ladies?
  12. My library has 131 of these books! This looks like a wonderful set. Thank you very much!
  13. We love BJU Science DVDs here and plan to use them for the remainder of our homeschooling years. Next year we'll use Science 6 and Physical Science. We have used Science 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and Biology and love them. We have done other BJU DVD classes, but my opinion is that the science DVDs are exceptional, and it would be impossible for me personally to teach or have them self-teach to such a high standard. This is perhaps the heaviest/most detailed subject in school, especially in high school, and to hear someone teach it is very beneficial to auditory and other learners, rather than just reading a textbook. The BJU catalog lists who teaches the class, and Mrs. Dunn, Mrs. Vick, and Mr. Harmon, who teach grades 3-11, are all excellent teachers.
  14. Years ago my mother had a hysterectomy and THEN her OB told her that her thyroid function was abnormal. She likely could have avoided surgery had her thyroid issues been addressed first. It is well documented that thyroid function, particularly low thyroid, can cause excessive menstrual bleeding.
