  1. Thanks, this is great feedback. I'm definitely going to keep it in mind for next year.
  2. I’m going to exercise 3-4 times a week and use the Trim Heathy Mama plan.
  3. Look at the CDC catch up vaccine schedule for doctors. It’s complicated, and you have to read it very carefully, but there are vaccines that you need less of after a certain age. Some, like rotavirus, they don’t give after a certain age. For example dtAP, you only need 1 shot after age 7. I read through it very very carefully and constructed my own catch up schedule for dd. Not all doctors know the recommendations and may try to have you do the whole series.
  4. Even if an expanded won’t have your child complely avoid loosing adult teeth, it will give more room so that maybe less adult teeth have to be pulled. I’ve had 3 kids with an expander and it was no big deal. Definitely go with number 2.
  5. Two of my kids are missing 1 upper lateral incisor, (ironically, it’s the same one). My 16 year old still has her baby tooth. Eventually she will get an implant. We are saving our quarters, lol. My 18 year old is also missing a lateral incisor. However he was born with a cleft palate and has a whole host of cleft related dental issues. His baby tooth fell out, so he’ll need an implant for that tooth, (and a few others). So our insurance will pay for his
  6. We taught all of our kids with No Stress Chess.
  7. I saw someone mention Acellus on one of my FB groups. I checked it out, and I think it might be a good thing to add to my 4th graders schoolwork. We haven't been doing as much science as he'd like. There was a huge price drop and it's now 9.99 a month. Is anyone using it and can give me real life feedback?
  8. My daughter is 16, and a neighbor pays her to help wrap all her presents. Win win for both them.
  9. It’s pretty freaky. I’m paying close atttention to the news, and trying to not scare the kids. I texted all my adult children reminders about our emergency evacuation plans. That was scary, lol.
  10. I have many teacher friends. They do spend their own money on supplies, but nothing like this. He needs to call the school board and his union rep.
  11. Something to think about....when I was growing up, we didn’t have a ton of money, but we did take a lot of trips- we went camping, to the river etc... My mom always let me bring a friend. The girl and I are still friends, 35+ years later. She has such fond memories of taking trips with our family. Her family didn’t go much of anywhere, so as an adult, she is thankful for those experiences.
  12. Gosh, I’d be thrilled if someone offered to take my kid on a vacation that I couldn’t afford. I mean, I’d feel envious for about 30 minutes, and then say “Heck Yes!!†I wouldn’t begrudge my kid a super cool trip because we couldn’t afford it.
  13. Lucky that she was able to get away with no bra for so long. My DS was wearing cami bras at 10.
  14. She sounds like an awful person. Stop trying to please her. Stop trying to make her like you and your kids. Just stop. Move on with your life like she wasn’t there, because she isn’t. I’m so sorry, it sucks, but you just make it worse for yourself and your kids with expectations that she will ever change.
  15. When my Scout was that age we got him; Daypack Pocket rocket with a pot Camelback backpack
  16. I wouldn’t pull them. It’s November, they’ve only been in school, what 3 months? I’d you’ve moved them around as much as you said you have, I’d be more concerned about them attaching to their friends.
  17. Ballet as a sport is pretty hard on the body, though I don’t think pointe is harder on the body than pointe itself. My daughter took ballet from 2years-15years and did get injured. Unfortunately it’s an injury that can’t really be fixed to allow her to do ballet, so she can’t take it anymore. It’s been really hard, but she had excellent training and solid pointe shoe fittings, it’s just her body being uncooperative.
  18. Ancestry.com is doing a sale as well. I’m thinking about buying the kit for my son for Christmas.
  19. I used Zeni for me, and it was okay. I wouldn’t ever use them for a child though. We’ve used costco and Walmart for their glasses. My kids need adjustments on their glasses from time to time. Where would you do that if you bought glasses online?

  21. I had one of my kids clipped by an oral surgeon. It was covered by dental insurance.
  22. I had 3 kiddos with a tongue tie. I have one as well. The earlier my kiddos had it clipped the easier it was for them to learn to breastfeed correctly. I’m looking into having mine clipped. It’s super annoying, and getting harder to deal with. Try calling around to lactation consulatants in your area. Most will know of a doctor who will clip it. We paid out of pocket for our kids procedures.
  23. This sounds amazing! You can go work out in the hotel gym, lay by the pool/jacuzzi, read, watch movies. Oh my gosh, I’m super jealous!
