Have fun with it! The SCA has it's share of oddbods, but it is a fun place to hang out. We've got a camping event coming up later this month and I have to get my wardrobe sorted out! I think I will look dignified if I have stolas to wear, so I'm finally going to make some from the wool I bought, erm, well, uh, yes, at that event last year! Let me know if you have any particular time and place in mind and I'll see if I have any idea where to direct you. (I know very little about anything, but know how to find people who know everything, lol.) I totally want Russian... Hang about, I'll dig up the link. http://www.strangelove.net/~kieser/Russia/PartizanWoman.html The Russians have the best headwear, and I'm not usually a hat person *sigh*
Oops. Pet topic. These messages are meant to be short, aren't they?

I have reminded hubby to answer your email...
He hardly ever answers mine either, the slacker :)

Hey Neighbour! It looks like I'll be moving down amongst you ugg boot wearers sometime soon!

Is that you on the SIG list? If so, I hope you take pity on this far flung gentle and write a very detailed description of Slavic U! I'm green with envy!

The red part of your sig line cracked me up! At the moment, I am very nearly sure I have more books than sense! It's only very deliberate denial that is allowing me not to fully admit it ;)

Marek is too young to be signing yet, only 8 months. Zia's Auslan hasn't really improved in months and months. Her speech hasn't much either, so they're not impeding each other. She's just too busy climbing on the couch to stop and look/listen! She's starting to sit and listen to me reading books again, if I catch her at the right time, so maybe she'll become more receptive again over the next few months. I'm hoping so, but it's sort of hard because Rich won't sign with the kids.

I knew your kids signed already, that's why I found your comments funny. Why don't you think ASL is an appropriate language to take in high school? Just curious, since our system is different. Is it because ASL isn't recognised by all colleges so taking that as the "foreign" language is limiting their choice?

I could see it was something Deaf related, but didn't know how to interpret it. I'm not aware of there being any CODA symbol over here, but even if there was, there's no reason it would be the same as what's used in the US. I thought it had a bitter sweet look to it, since to me it looks like a bandaid over the thumb... I figured I was over thinking it...
