  1. 20 min fitbymik dumbbell workout this morning. Been awake since 3:30--sleep is not getting better. Stress is back as schedule is still not set, some not happy with it. More conferences today--yesterday's went well with more than a few parents letting me know that their kid says I'm a great teacher or math is their favorite class--needed to hear that. Not getting caught up on piles of schoolwork with all of the drama still going on.

  2. If you haven't checked ferritin I would check that. I think that's the one that is stored iron and my dd has a problem with it being low and causing the fatigue thing. And she's been on iron over a year now with it a little better, but it's not like the level comes into much of a healthy range. This does not at all cover everything your dd is going through, but especially if she's had a lot of bleeding I would be curious where it's at. Does she run? Most of my dd's running friends deal with low iron issues.

  3. 30 min on the treadmill this morning. Started feeling the lunges from yesterday morning last night--don't take 3 months off from lunges (though some do show up in fitbymik videos, just not as much).

Sleep is still messed up, but my stress level is lowering. I think I will stay at my current school, part time now, less pay. I have a very supportive department who were willing to switch up classes a bit so I can lower my workload to match my pay. Well, it will still feel like full time work, but not working-every-waking-hour full time work for part time pay. I'll be all Algebra 1 next year, dropping the Alg 2. Today and tomorrow are conferences. I don't need to be in quite so early.

  4. I did my bodyweight circuit for the first time in months (been doing the 30 days of yoga very slowly). I fully expect sore legs from the lunges tomorrow or Thursday. Did not add any yoga today, but hopefully I'll get a little walk in with dd this evening.

Much stress related to what my job will be next year--very little sleep because I wake up in the middle of the night and my brain begins thinking about it all. We have a math dept meeting after school to talk about next year's schedule. If I can't get a schedule that greatly reduces my workload to match my 23% salary cut then I might have to consider the offer to go to the middle school just for the full time guarantee. Bleah. Today will not be fun.

  5. My college kid has discovered that Target is cheaper for groceries than her other local options. But I don't know of specific products to look for (as I would for Trader Joe's or Costco). My Target is in a different town so trips are infrequent. I like some specific seasonal items like back-to-school shopping in the second half of July or Christmas stocking shopping in Nov/Dec. I like their Up & Up (store brand) jumbo-size cotton balls. I get a lot of toiletries there--feminine hygiene, lotion, hair ties. But not usually much food as I'm typically going to Costco next.

  6. I did a crappy job of a gentle yoga this morning. Major mental funk as I get to contemplate a choice between a reduction in hours or switching to a different school (at a grade level I've never taught other than my own kids) as I am the math teacher with least seniority in a district making cuts due to declining enrollment. Fun!

  7. Day 30 of 30 Days of Yoga done! I think I pretty much did 2 per week, Saturdays and Tuesdays. I skipped 18 because it's a 10 min meditation and I do yoga for stretching and movement, even a little strength. Not so much the meditation. I'm not actually a fan of Day 30 either because she always takes off her mic and goes silent. It's really hard to constantly look at the screen or even take enough peeks to know when to do the next thing. So I stayed in extended child pose much longer than her, etc. Back to my bodyweight circuit next Tuesday--not so used to lunges anymore!

  8. I was thinking per person because in the family situations I imagine for me, the couples are older and have more money and would frankly love to pay a bit more for the singles to have a nice vacation with them.

I’m still using the 2 wheeled carry on size bag that was dh’s before we got married, so it’s 20+ years old.  I keep thinking I need to replace it, but it still works, even if it isn’t so nice looking anymore

This is me. I had a business trip to Germany 30 years ago and I spent $$ at a AAA travel store to get I think a Samsonite--skinny enough to trail me on an airplane aisle, fits in the overhead space. Just has 2 wheels, soft-sided, tips too easily, but it works so I haven't replaced it.

Dh's brother traveled with us once and then got us nice big check-in style bags which we've used a few times. Also Samsonite soft-sided. And I tend to hold on to things too, so even though we almost always use carry-on bags these days, these are still in the closet. My next bag will be a soft bag that fits under the seat--I'm tired of the threat of having to check my bag because overhead bins are full. And I'm almost always just traveling for a few days where a small bag works.

  10. 30 min on the treadmill this morning. I will head into school in a bit and get ready for Monday. One dd left yesterday, her sister will arrive on Monday (breaks didn't line up). So I don't mind working today if it will lighten up next week and allow me to visit with dd a bit more.
