  1. My old Tuesday pattern--bodyweight exercise x2 and a 10 min yoga stretch after. We'll see if my legs handle the lunges better this week.
  2. 26 min on the treadmill this morning. And I got some sleep this weekend.
  3. My dd had this when she was in 7th or 8th grade. She was starting her big growth spurt--it wasn't obvious to us yet that that was what was going on--and she was doing both cross country running and club soccer. I took her to a sports medicine doctor when I noticed it was affecting her gait and he diagnosed it. She had PT for a few months. She wore heel cups in her soccer shoes for a couple of years (soccer shoes are not designed for heel support!) and she learned that she needed a certain amount of drop in her running shoes which she still looks for today ~10 years later.
  4. My dd got her adult passport when she was on winter break in December. The one from when she was 15 had expired. She got pretty lucky I think--we were in the building to submit the paperwork & old passport (they still want it) and even had to get a photo and it took us all of 8 minutes. The new passport came about 3 weeks later. The old expired one was mailed back to us a couple of weeks after that. But I'm guessing they were all less busy in late December/January than they are this time of year.
  5. No school and no conferences yesterday. Did 30 min on the treadmill, had my yearly exam and some bloodwork, ddog had her yearly exam. With all of the stress this week my weight was a little down and my bp was up--I could still feel physiological stress, so I'll start monitoring bp at home again when things settle down. Triglycerides and HDL are good, overall cholesterol still high and LDL is high too. Enough motivation to tweak some health things again--more salads, maybe some walks after dinner, etc. Dog is doing well--weight stable, healthy coat, in good shape. She runs everyday with dh. An old favorite yoga today--Root to Rise. Nice sunny weekend ahead.
  6. 20 min fitbymik dumbbell workout this morning. Been awake since 3:30--sleep is not getting better. Stress is back as schedule is still not set, some not happy with it. More conferences today--yesterday's went well with more than a few parents letting me know that their kid says I'm a great teacher or math is their favorite class--needed to hear that. Not getting caught up on piles of schoolwork with all of the drama still going on.
  7. If you haven't checked ferritin I would check that. I think that's the one that is stored iron and my dd has a problem with it being low and causing the fatigue thing. And she's been on iron over a year now with it a little better, but it's not like the level comes into much of a healthy range. This does not at all cover everything your dd is going through, but especially if she's had a lot of bleeding I would be curious where it's at. Does she run? Most of my dd's running friends deal with low iron issues.
  8. 30 min on the treadmill this morning. Started feeling the lunges from yesterday morning last night--don't take 3 months off from lunges (though some do show up in fitbymik videos, just not as much). Sleep is still messed up, but my stress level is lowering. I think I will stay at my current school, part time now, less pay. I have a very supportive department who were willing to switch up classes a bit so I can lower my workload to match my pay. Well, it will still feel like full time work, but not working-every-waking-hour full time work for part time pay. I'll be all Algebra 1 next year, dropping the Alg 2. Today and tomorrow are conferences. I don't need to be in quite so early.
  9. I did my bodyweight circuit for the first time in months (been doing the 30 days of yoga very slowly). I fully expect sore legs from the lunges tomorrow or Thursday. Did not add any yoga today, but hopefully I'll get a little walk in with dd this evening. Much stress related to what my job will be next year--very little sleep because I wake up in the middle of the night and my brain begins thinking about it all. We have a math dept meeting after school to talk about next year's schedule. If I can't get a schedule that greatly reduces my workload to match my 23% salary cut then I might have to consider the offer to go to the middle school just for the full time guarantee. Bleah. Today will not be fun.
  10. 30 min on the treadmill this morning. No old castles, no snow-eating. But I read further into my mystery so the time passed easily.
  11. My college kid has discovered that Target is cheaper for groceries than her other local options. But I don't know of specific products to look for (as I would for Trader Joe's or Costco). My Target is in a different town so trips are infrequent. I like some specific seasonal items like back-to-school shopping in the second half of July or Christmas stocking shopping in Nov/Dec. I like their Up & Up (store brand) jumbo-size cotton balls. I get a lot of toiletries there--feminine hygiene, lotion, hair ties. But not usually much food as I'm typically going to Costco next.
  12. I did a crappy job of a gentle yoga this morning. Major mental funk as I get to contemplate a choice between a reduction in hours or switching to a different school (at a grade level I've never taught other than my own kids) as I am the math teacher with least seniority in a district making cuts due to declining enrollment. Fun!
  13. Short workouts and not-so-well-planned meals here too. 17 min on treadmill yesterday. 15 min light dumbbell workout today. Need to go make a PBJ sandwich for lunch and grab a yogurt and an apple.
  14. Day 30 of 30 Days of Yoga done! I think I pretty much did 2 per week, Saturdays and Tuesdays. I skipped 18 because it's a 10 min meditation and I do yoga for stretching and movement, even a little strength. Not so much the meditation. I'm not actually a fan of Day 30 either because she always takes off her mic and goes silent. It's really hard to constantly look at the screen or even take enough peeks to know when to do the next thing. So I stayed in extended child pose much longer than her, etc. Back to my bodyweight circuit next Tuesday--not so used to lunges anymore!
  15. This is just what I was thinking. We like the Kirkland cashews. Is that a splurge?
  16. Jessica Smith's Cardio Core Flow this morning. 37° right now on this "spring" day. Jeff Foxworthy's 4 seasons in Oregon are Almost Winter, Winter, Still Winter, and Road Construction. We're in Still Winter.
  17. Day 29 of 30 Days of Yoga. Busy weekend--airport run, phone died so maybe phone shopping on the way back, clean up house, schoolwork and school stress, etc.
  18. Princess Bride mostly. We don't get out enough. "I am not left handed." "I do not think that means what you think it means." One of my faves when I'm too short to reach something, "Farmboy, fetch that for me."
  19. 20 min on the treadmill this morning.
  20. Fitbymik dumbbell workout this morning. And I'm getting good at putting the dumbbells away (toe still hurts a bit).
  21. I was thinking per person because in the family situations I imagine for me, the couples are older and have more money and would frankly love to pay a bit more for the singles to have a nice vacation with them.
  22. Fitbymik cardio this morning.
  23. Day 28 of 30 Days of Yoga this morning. Almost done!
  24. 22 min on the treadmill this morning. Enough walking at school to close the exercise ring.
