  1. I even emailed the company with no response. I emailed Learning Literacy for their Word Builders Elements 1 course and they were awesome - emailed me back the same day with a code. Not giving up hope on Cover Story yet.....but soon.
  2. Thinking about purchasing this. Thoughts? Coupon?
  3. Many, many thanks ladies. And let me assure those of you who are homeschooling right now, you are doing a very, very good thing! :D
  4. It was just 3 years ago that I stopped homeschooling as my last one entered highschool. I am now a public school 6th grade English teacher and having a difficult time finding a dynamic resource for roots. I would have LOVED to have gone to a homeschool convention to check out the latest goodies, but alas, I was working. Does anyone know of a program that includes analogies and, my pie in the sky request, includes a paragraph from real literature using words made from the root being studied? I have no faith in my peers who all get the same catalogs from the same publishers for a workbook that has more pictures than substance. Taking my quest straight to the best educators in the world. Thanks in advance for any feedback you can give.
  5. We did Challenge I, then moved to public highschool which needed a transcript. Followed guide for credit (but don't forget to add in music lessons, phys ed, drivers ed, etc.) and attached a one paragraph summary of each class with the help of the CATALOG and the class descriptions in the front of the GUIDE. Upon completion, I was like - DANG! This is IMPRESSIVE!
  6. I noticed that College Plus has a prep resource for Speed Reading. I have never taken a class and don't know if it is all hype or if it is worth it. As we venture into massive amounts of reading for AP tests, thought I'd ask if anyone has experience with this. Thanks bunches! Michelle in VA
  7. Looking for resources to construct an AP US Gov't class. Anyone had any experience with this? thanks! Michelle in Stafford, VA
  8. Here is a link to some online Henle AND Latin for Children classes. I know the teacher, Magistra Shepherd and she is such an enthusiastic, knowledgable professor! We love her. http://www.latinandclassics.com/ If you do contact her, please let her know that Michelle Ciccarello posted her info. on the WTM site. She will be tickled! Michelle in VA
  9. which TT videos did you use and would you still have the link to the cengage site you mentioned when you did AP European history? Thanks a million for sharing. Michelle in VA
  10. do a search on 'stossel in the classroom' that should do it. You can see many free from his site. they are WONDERFUL! Just 5 minutes long, but thought provoking and conversation starting. Michelle in VA
  11. www.classicalconversations.com has in their bookstore 'Economics in a Box' which is geared to parents and students learning together - it includes items from different sources including the Stossel videos and others. Very interesting. Michelle in VA
  12. Just a thought.......... www.kristensguide.com We also just watched the Super Student tape from Teaching Company and are trying to find one that matches. Michelle from VA
  13. but when I looked up the price on amazon to find what they go for new - it says over $200!!! Same with Vol. 1 read by Mrs. Johnson. Are these collector items or is this just silliness? TIA Michelle in VA
  14. My daughter has just finished Saxon Algebra I and I would like a 'summer reinforcement' before we head into Algebra II. To clarify - Lial's Introductory Algebra is Algebra I? and there is an Intermediate that corresponds roughly with Algebra II? TIA - I so appreciate this thread! I am getting questions answered I didn't even know I had. Michelle in VA
