  1. I live in an area that was a test market for the program so I've had it a bit longer than some people. My total is at $13.75. My plan is to just keep letting it accumulate until it's time to go Christmas shopping. I figure I can use it to get some gifts for the nieces and nephews.
  2. My daughter and nephew have a few minecraft videos. They don't use inappropriate language. :) They are a couple of homeschoolers just having fun. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLGdz8ElA34k7e39AaH2LNcXITF6_YOEbh
  3. Our 9 year old declawed cat who has never been outside got out last year. We did everything we could think of to find him. We have bobcats and coyotes in the area and I assumed he didn't have any survival skills. We rented an opossum trap and set it up with cat food in our backyard. Sure enough, we caught him in the trap after he had spent a week outside. He was terrified but completely unharmed.
  4. You will be an awesome grandma! You have done a great job practicing on my kids for years. We are so happy for you. Olivia has captured all of our hearts!
  5. I also had a uterine rupture at the age of 29. We had certainly planned on more children but the option was taken away. I struggled a lot those first few days after our last one was born. I knew it was my last chance to have a newborn and I wanted to cherish every second, but on the other hand I was filled with sadness over the loss of fertility. My "baby" is turning six and I still have really tough days. The funny side affect that I didn't expect is now I enjoy other people's babies a lot more. Currenty I take care of an infant during the days. It's ok to be sad. Please message if you need to talk. :grouphug:
  6. Our church is offering this class right now. It may be worth checking into to see if there is one in your area. It is for couples who are committed but want to get back some spark. http://www.familydynamics.net/dynamicmarriage.php
  7. They is so much rejoicing at our house! The girls were already looking at dresses today. You are going to be the BEST grandma!
  8. We have several friends in the same family so there are several sets of Mr. and Mrs. O that my kids need to keep track of. I told my kids that we were having the Os over for dinner and my 4 yo ask if it was the "Mrs. O who has a baby in her tummy." I corrected her and reminded her that the baby already came out and was now 6 months old. When Mrs. O came I told her the story and laughed. Mrs. O wanted to know if Liz thought it was a boy or girl because she was in fact expecting again and they just hadn't announced it yet. For the record, she did get the gender wrong.
  9. I have a friend whose kids are in public school. She says every time there is an outbreak in the school she makes sure she uses the blow drier on each kid each day as hot as the kids will let her go. The idea is to use the heat to kill anything before it hatches. So far they haven't had a lice problem in the family.
  10. LOL! Love it! Send her to my house if she gets too annoying. :)
  11. My husband works at the Sprint Campus in OP. He said that there really wasn't much/or any damage that he knew of in the area.
  12. We just stole this idea from a friend. We bought a cheep piece of that colored flexible foam stuff at Hobby Lobby. Then we made drew on it to make boxes with names for each cup to go on. That way nothing permanently marks the cups. When the cup mat gets old we can throw it away and get a new one for 25 cents.
  13. My SIL is MyBlueLobsters. When I was 7 months pg with my 3rd I had an emergency situation and she had to race me to the hospital. They were prepping me for emergency surgery. I was loosing a lot of blood fast, and starting not to think clearly. The poor girl had to be in the room and help answer my medical and admission questions while they stripped me down and got me ready for the surgery. We aren't the type of sisters who are in the room for each others deliveries, but when the emergency came along she was there when I needed her. She was ready to go in to the c-section room if I needed her, but she was thrilled when my dh arrived and she was off the hook. I'm sure she was probably more traumatized than I was. :001_smile:
  14. I was young and stupid when I got married. We thought we'd have the money to pay for our honeymoon later and charged most of it. (hanging head in shame) Getting into debt was not a smart way to start a new marriage. I guess one way to look at it might be that this young couple can pick up toasters and 9 x 13 pans at garage sales and thrift stores, but they can't just pick up a great honeymoon.
  15. I have five little girls in my family. When two of the big ones were little we got a used Fisher Price Loving Family dollhouse. They played with it so much that when I found another at a garage sale I didn't hesitate to buy a second. Now one of the older girls is nine and she still plays with it a lot. They don't have all of the FP room sets. Anything goes as far as people, furniture, and rooms.
  16. I'm hoping you get some more replies. I have a little girl who is really, really hoping for a Kindle for her 11th birthday. I got The Golden Acorn for free and she is reading it on mine. Honestly, I haven't read it myself, so I have no idea if it's any good. :)
  17. Pick your four favorites days and only do those.
  18. Hey SIL. Heidi S. linked to this the other day. http://www.amazon.com/31-Days-Clean-Having-ebook/dp/B004W3UK4M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1304301699&sr=8-1 It is a wash your curtains and clean out your fridge kind of spring cleaning thing. Of course there is also Heidi's book. http://www.lulu.com/product/paperback/bootcamp-for-lousy-housekeepers/13654031?productTrackingContext=search_results/search_shelf/center/1 It is more of a day to day, chore charts for the kids, getting and keeping it clean. I think there is a file download for hers that is less expensive. I own both and have followed through on neither.
  19. I'm not Remudamom, but I am a real life good friend. :001_smile: I am also FB friends with her sister and she is doing well. In fact, this morning she had a grill set up at her theater and was making hot dogs and hamburgers for the rescuers. That's the kind of great person that she is. Maybe this will bump the post up so Remudamom can chime in herself and add any other details.
  20. My husband boxed up a bunch of books to store. He used library thing to keep track of the books that we owned and then just made a note on library thing to say "box 1" or "box 2" or so on. That way when the family wants the boxed up books (which they will) it is easy to go to the computer, find the box number, and pull out the book. He can remove the note about the box it is in and the system can stay current.
