  1. Rosemary Potatoes: Dice potatoes. Add as many whole (i prefer peeled) cloves of garlic as you want. Toss with a little oil and a lot of salt. Spread it over a cookie sheet. Lay a couple sprigs of rosemary on top and bake in a hot oven until the potatoes are tender and the garlic turns sweet (45 min-1hr or so). Hash: dice potatoes. chop and add any other leftover bits you have from cooking that week (like that half an onion, or couple stalks of celery, or that spinach that's starting to wilt, or leftover cooked chicken, or some leftover ham, or whatever is in your fridge that you want used up). Season with salt and any anything else and saute in a little oil till everything is tender. My kids like it with ketchup. I like it with hot sauce.
  2. Thanks everyone for the help! I'm glad I'm not just missing something obvious. I took your good advice and emailed Peace Hill Press with my question. ETA That is interesting about the three other words in the old edition. I found them in our word search, but it still didn't make any more sense.
  3. Thanks! Dd is in first grade, and can't read any better than most, but for some reason she loves word searches. Go figure. We do them together, though.
  4. 22 views and nobody knows? Ah well, if this bump doesn't work I'll just give up on it :)
  5. HELP! I must be missing something - probably something obvious.:glare: We did the Jewish People Word Search today on SOTW Vol1 Ch6. We're supposed to write down the leftover letters in order to answer a bonus riddle. I can't find any bonus riddle, and the leftover letters don't make any sense. What did we miss? Thanks!
  6. Thanks for all the ideas! We're really looking forward to some quiet time (at least, I am ;))
  7. Thanks! Great plan! That'll work for now. But... Just to make things complicated - what about when child #4 comes along in our three bedroom house? Or should I just figure that out in a year or so when that happens.:001_smile: ETA oh wait - you said my room OR ANOTHER ROOM. I guess the living room would count. Doesn't seem as confining though - likely a small child would be prone to wander. Hmm. Any ideas?
  8. Hi, I've heard so much about the wonders of daily quiet time where children go into their rooms and play by themselves or read or draw etc. I'd love to start this in our home - but my boys share a room. How do you manage quiet time with small children who share a room? It seem that it would be anything but quiet, and a big fight isn't relaxing :) Beth
