  1. My dd, 10, prefers textbooks. We tried for two years not to use them. This year, I'm giving in and using textbooks for almost all subjects. She doesn't learn well going from library book to library book. She needs the continuity that textbooks provide. We love Glencoe's Journey Across Time for her history spine. It's fantastic! 2. We've been using it for a year with DD10. It's the first spelling program she really likes! I recommend getting the Record Book. For us, it's easier than printing out sheets. Amy in Ohio
  3. 1. Computer 2. Stove (DD-10 loves to cook so much we're adding Foods and Nutrition this year!) Amy in Ohio I want a desk apprentice, too!
  4. We started French Prep 1 this year and we love it! My dd is 10, and she's done quite well. I have a degree in French, and I teach French online as well. French Prep is one of the few programs that I approve! Amy in Ohio
  5. We started this year with dd, grade 4. She tells everybody she loves Latin! She even likes memorizing the vocabulary words. Imagine! Amy in OH
  6. Thanks everyone! I'm glad the calculator isn't absolutely required. I may get it for myself, though. The book only has the answers to odd problems!! Amy in Ohio
  7. My dd will start Dolciani Pre-Algebra in the fall. It's the '85/'88 version, which of course doesn't use a new TI graphing calculator. How important is the graphing calculator to Pre-Algebra? I feel like if she can do the work by hand, she could quickly pick up the calculator use later. Maybe I'm wrong, though. What do all you math people think? Thanks! Amy in Ohio
