What's your favorite "bad" movie?
TanuvasaMama replied to helena's topic in General Education Discussion Board
The Last Dragon!!! Oh, yeah, it's a really bad one, Sho' nuff! Big trouble in Little China is pretty aweful too, but you've got to love it. -
ROBIN HOOD - the Russell Crowe Movie ----
TanuvasaMama replied to MariannNOVA's topic in General Education Discussion Board
DH and I got about an hour into it last night. We finally turned it off because we were exhausted, but what we've seen we've liked. just a heads up, there is a sort of love scene in the beginning where the prince is hooking up with the french girl...alot of giggling and rolling around on the sheets. We'll finish watching it tonight. -

How do you understand the Trinity? (cc)
TanuvasaMama replied to TXMomof4's topic in General Education Discussion Board
This has always been my question. Why would Jesus pray to the Father if he IS the Father??? Like someone saying I'm a mom, wife, teacher but still the same person...when I'm in mom mode I don't talk to wife mode and ask her questions...does that make sense? My mind just can't comprehend it... -
All of my kids rarely spit up. We never even bothered to put burp rags on our shoulders. DD is 4 weeks old and she's probably spit up twice and it was just a tiny, tiny bit each time. I babysat triplets when I was younger and the smallest one would projectile spit up! I've never seen anything so crazy!

just a vent. no need to read
TanuvasaMama replied to dm379's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I went to high school in Korea and did the whole model/tv thing so I completely understand your poor daughters situation. The agents aren't very good at censoring their words, sadly. My sister was told in several stores that she'd walk in "Too fat, nothing here for you!" I feel for your little girl! No kid should be made to feel not beautiful... -
I just realized something about old songs...
TanuvasaMama replied to BeckyFL's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I didn't realize what the songs were about, even though I knew all the words, until I started playing guitar hero. The songs are great, but then I started listening to the words...woah. Now I finally know what the song "Slow Ride" is all about...I'd just pictured a bunch of bikers driving around on a sunday drive!!! Yeah, I was wrong... I was a pretty wild teen, but I admit reading this thread has opened my eyes! I had NO IDEA...my sharona...the joker...celebrate my love...0_0 -
I've noticed on a few blogs that some people have set menus for what they eat for breakfast/lunch, such as Mondays=hotdogs, Always. I hate trying to figure out what to do for breakfast/lunch! My mind doesn't think past cereal and sandwiches. Do any of you have a set menu? If so, could you post it!

How much sleep do you get?
TanuvasaMama replied to sahm99's topic in General Education Discussion Board
SOOOOO not enough. I go to bed around 11:30 ish. Night is the only time I have to hang out with DH and I have a hard time giving that up. I try to get up around 5 so I can have quite time in the house to clean/plan/prep. So about 5 1/2 hours...but then factor in that I have a 3 week old...ugh...night time nursing is cutting down on the little sleep I get. -
Tired of pleasing everyone at dinner time
TanuvasaMama replied to Nestof3's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I've seen that so much with the husbands acting like the biggest babies of all when it comes to meal times!!! The only thing I try to respect is that my husband is lactose intolerant (to a point...he can still do cheeses in most recipes). Other than that, I'm just like many of you. I make it, you eat it, no complaining allowed at the table or you get down and go to bed. I don't want my kids to ever go to someone elses house and not know how to handle being given food you're not used to or you might not like. We've been working on right when you take your first bite, you compliment the meal. (my mom is always on pins and needles waiting for feedback on her food!!) I'm lucky though, because so far my kids haven't been picky about much and aren't complainers. I throw all kinds of veggies in my spaghetti sauce to introduce them to new things. But we also have the old standbys that I know they love. I try to find a wide variety of foods to expose them to. I'm about to have a family of 8...NO WAY I could be a short order cook. -
Hey! I'd like for my kids to get some educational online game time while I'm helping some of the other kids. I was wondering what sites you'd recommend. We've used starfall.com and hoodamath.com. Just curious to know what else you've found ages pre-4th. Thanks!!! Maybe we could start a running list!

I think we're almost to the point where we're ready to add art. A lot of the curriculum seem to be JUST about drawing or some other type of medium. Any suggestions for a well rounded art curriculum for the family to do together?

Besides a slight difference in ages, this is EXACTLY where I'm at!!!!:bigear::bigear::bigear::bigear:

So there seem to be a ton of great planners/trackers but very few seem to be supported by mac. Have you found anything that works for you in tracking multiple children on your mac??? I'm at a loss and I'd love to have it on my computer instead of just on paper. Thanks!

Has anyone used this before? It looks great and it's a free download. I just have one question as this is my first year homeschooling...is it a chapter a day type of thing? http://www.eequalsmcq.com/homeschoolers.htm

Do you use them together or is one enough??? I ordered some curriculum I'm not happy with so I'm trying to scramble and order something else and I'm very curious about using these for language arts. What do you recommend?
