  1. We still have our 5 (almost 6) year old daughter in a booster seat at our kitchen table because she was sitting so low in our kitchen chairs. For school we just purchased this table at Toys R Us and it is working very well. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3505979 We also have a $10 smaller folding table from Walgreens right next to it that her 2 year old sister sits at. That way they both have their own space, at least some of the time!
  2. I like the yellow mechanical number 2 pencils to avoid the pencil sharpener. They twist at the bottom instead of pushing them from the top so they don't click when you erase. I also like the erasers that look like a pen (that you can push up). I also needed brads, which were hard to find, and unlined index cards and an index card box. The box was actually harder to find than I thought it would be. I couldn't find a recipe box or index card box at several stores. I also realized I should stock up on plain white paper.
  3. Hi, Is anyone considering combining HOD LHFHG and Memoria Press Kindergarten? I like elements of both but can't decide if it would just be overkill. My dd is so excited to "do school". This will be our first year homeschooling and I have a 2 year old as well. I have bought LHFHG but I like that MP has the memory work that I might not think to do (address & phone no., poems, prayers, pledge, etc.) and I'm thinking of using their phonics program. I was already considering supplementing Singapore EB with R&S anyway. And I like the MP read-alouds. I'm thinking I would mainly have to watch the writing to make sure it isn't overkill. Has anyone combined these two or is anyone planning to? Thanks!
