Dr. Hive: Care to Weigh In About My Symptoms?
Disney Dreaming replied to astrid's topic in General Education Discussion Board
BTDT-migraine.:grouphug: It took a trip to urgent care for me to get something to get rid of mine(and then slept the rest of the day). -
We are. We save our days off when we need a break or take a vacation. Dh is working tomorrow so I see no need to be off.

Whispering Canyon is at the Wilderness Lodge. You can ride the boat from MK to WL in about 10-15 minutes(I would allow 30 in case it was busy). We stayed there this summer and ate breakfast there but never dinner. We LOVED the resort!!! Oh, and we had breakfast at Ohana 2 years ago-loved it. Dd loved Lilo and Stitch!!

I am not sure why he is doing the total abdominal. He has been my doctor for over 20 years, delivered all 3 of my dc and I just honestly didn't think to question him. He is removing the ovaries and I have endometriosis....maybe that is why? I don't know. I also had a c-section with my first child. I am worried that recovery is going to be like your mothers. I remember my c-section was a very slow recovery and that was over 20 years ago!

I am going to look at those CD's on Amazon. The biggest thing I am worried about is would the hospital allow them. They were stressing not bringing anything in because of worries of staph and such. I wonder about before the surgery and in recovery though. I may call the dr and ask! I could always overnight the cd's from Amazon. Dh is taking off a total of 9 days, so I am in good hands! I remember needing the pillow after I had a C section with my first dd(many, many years ago). We started school at the beginning of July. Since we already have 20 days under our belt I will just wait at least 2 weeks before starting back. Hopefully by then I can at least sit on the sofa while she works! Thanks so much for the info!

I will be having a hysterectomy on Wednesday. I have put this off for a few years and now I am pretty much left with no other option. I had a cyst rupture a few years ago, and then 2 weeks ago I went to the doctor thinking I had another cyst. Unfortunately, when he did the ultrasound he found endometriosis. I am terrified of having this hysterectomy. I do not do well with anesthesia, I am anemic, and I am totally a baby when dealing with pain.:tongue_smilie: Anyway, what can I expect when I wake up from the surgery? What about when I come home 3 days later? It will be a total abdominal hysterectomy. When will I feel like starting back with school with my 3rd grade dd? Any prayers/good thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Can you buy a reader schedule from sonlight still?
Disney Dreaming replied to staceyobu's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
You can still get the study guide up to the grade 4-5 readers without the LA. It is listed in the readers set(but can be bought separately). -
We went to Disney in June and while it wasn't impossible to eat gluten free, it was difficult. I normally had bacon for breakfast(I didn't eat eggs since I have read somewhere that the eggs sometimes have gluten in them to make them fluffy), I would eat a burger or chicken sandwich without the bun for lunch or dinner, etc... I didn't see any gluten free foods(like pizza and such). We did stay on Disney property to eat even though we had a car. You would need a car to get to Universal. They are different parks and not really close to each other(about 15 minutes or so from each other). BTW, they have started remodeling PO Riverside-the remodeled rooms have queen beds in the princess rooms. We have stayed at quite a few resorts(from the value to the deluxe) and I think it makes all the difference to stay on site(if it is in your budget). I know many prefer to spread out and stay in condos, but the perks for staying on site is worth it to me to pay the extra money(extra park hours, transportation to and from all parks, etc..) We always book through Disney. I do research on allears.net and touringplans.com.

Sonlight revoked my heirloom status.
Disney Dreaming replied to wendybern's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Use it and make your own decision. There are many that have no complaints and just don't voice their opinions. I haven't had any issues with them so far other than placing my dd in the correct core. Everyone will have a different experience.:) -

Critique my 2nd and 4th grade lineup please...
Disney Dreaming replied to MiniBlondes's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
Being on a limited budget I would recommend the following: 4th grade Handwriting-A Reason for Handwriting(C or D) Spelling-Spelling Workout D LA-First Language Lessons 3(if she has had limited grammar, and MAYBE combine with your 2nd grader) Readers-look at Sonlight's list and just buy the books as you need them, or check them out of the library(if you have a good library) Art, Wordly Wise, Spanish-I really believe with this being your first year homeschooling I would add this if you see you have time after the first few weeks. 2nd grade Handwriting-A Reason for Handwriting(B or C) Spelling-Spelling Workout B LA-First Language Lessons 1/2 or 3 with sis Readers-again, just use SL as a list to go by. Is she a strong enough reader to share with her sister? I noticed you were thinking of combining them in LA. Art, Wordly Wise, Spanish-see above HTH -
