Can we discuss the anti-American protests??
Woolspinner replied to Moxie's topic in General Education Discussion Board
killing of Osama bin Laden and the anniversary of 9/11. The movie is just an excuse. -
Does anyone use this for homeschooling? I am wondering if you find it worthwhile for the additional readings with SOTW or even literature selections. If you do use it, what level do you use? How do you use it?

Thank you for your calmness ,clarity and kindness. I have been in panic mode this evening. You're right about her age too, don't know why I was thinking she would be 20. Thank you for your advice, it sounds well thought out.

Curriculum suggestions? How will it look on her transcript if she is 20 when graduating? Will that make it more difficult for her to get scholarships etc? I know I can't and don't want to push her too hard and too fast, I want her to truly learn, but I also don't want her to be penalized.

This year she has done Saxon 5/4 but the placement test shows her ready for 7/6. We have done Rod and Staff Grammar 6 She did reading on Colonial History. She has done reading about weather , animal care and is currently raising a praying mantis and learning about it. I feel so guilty about all of this.

My dd is 14, will be 15 in Nov. so it seems this NEEDS to be her 9th grade year. However, due to my chronic illness, she is a solid 6-7th grader. How would you proceed? I was thinking I would have one more year but the light bulb went on the other day that THIS is the year she should be 9th. All help, ideas, suggestions needed, curriculum and otherwise. Thanks

"Discharged from our practice"...
Woolspinner replied to Stacie Leigh's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Why do you have to turn in a medical form to your school district when you are homeschooling? This to me is an invasion of your child's privacy! I have been homeschooling for 18 yrs and have never heard of such a thing! -

I have the S9. Still in the rental phase. Is this good, bad? what is your experience? Machine, mask, etc?

Thanks for the link Just looked at it briefly and I guess I have a lot to learn, I didn't understand much they were saying. All the acronyms.... I have a ResMed machine. My pressure is 11 and I do use the ramp up feature. My nasal pillows are Opus and I really like them but they come detached from the headgear in the night. Not every night, but frequently. My machine has an attached humidifier but others seem to have a second machine humidifier. What do you all have?

I have gone back twice and am scheduled to go back again tomorrow. They act frustrated with me actually. I really like the nose pillows I have but they keep coming disconnected from the main piece in the front. Don't know if I have a defective one or if it is the nature of this brand. I tried one mask, but honestly it was so heavy and I didn't feel like I could get enough air. So, I don't know if I should try the same nose pillow, just a new one, or, another mask. I found a resmed mask today online that looks like it could be good. Resmed Mirage Vista nasal mask. Any opinions?

I would like to compare notes with someone with CPAP experience. I have been using mine for about 6 weeks. I am having a difficult time finding the "perfect" mask, nasal pillows etc. I like the pillows I am using except for the fact that it comes apart at night and wakes me up. So would like to hear from others what works for them. Hope there is someone out there that can help!

Recurrent mouth sores
Woolspinner replied to Tanya in KS's topic in General Education Discussion Board
What about changing his toothpaste? My dentist had me switch to Tom's because it doesn't have any of the additives that the others have. Haven't had the mouth sores that I used to have. -
WWY take a friend in the hospital?
Woolspinner replied to hsmom27's topic in General Education Discussion Board
All the things mentioned above are great. Another thought would be lip balm since hospitals are so dry. Does she have a hobby like knitting or something to keep her hands busy. When my ds was hospitalized, my friends brought in everything I needed to weave a basket. Everything pre-cut etc. It was the best medicine. -
My father is troubled with these from time to time and this last time his Dr. had him treat it with castor oil topically. Believe it or not, it worked. It can't hurt to try. He just rubbed it on daily and covered with a bandaid.

Knitting projects help me deal with stress
Woolspinner replied to CalicoKat's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Another fiber addict here as well. Crochet, knitting and spinning have literally been lifesavers for me these past several years. I take it with me wherever I go and knit or crochet when I have to wait anywhere. It has started many conversations for me and even earned me a little extra money when someone has asked me to make something for them. -
Where can I find a pizza peel?
Woolspinner replied to Xuzi's topic in General Education Discussion Board
a restaurant supply store in our town. Relatively inexpensive too!
