  1. I haven't read past page one. I fiind this thinking rather sad. I also think this is what most working moms who feel guilty about their choice usually say. Now, I am am cutting out of here, because I do actually have to make dinner for my family.
  2. Thanks for the clips!:001_smile: Talking with my elderly mother makes me a little nuts. :auto: I usually come here or other sites to cheer up. :001_smile:
  3. I am so tired of "glass half empty" people. Negativity is so catchy it seems. It is almost enough to make one sad and hurt by everything they say..almost but not quite. Time to be around some positive folks, they are usually upbeat and don't get all sad and hurt at comments not directed at them anyway. That's it.
  4. Life. If we don't start with that one, there isn't much point to any others.
  5. What about if I don't know the song? I'm 44 am I behind? I wasn't with relatives this holiday season and I am so very thankful for that! all I really know is that whenever we are with the cousins my kids are the well behaved ones, and I go home smiling about that. Of course, that is after the lecture on how kids need socialization. lol
  6. I would just like to add that to get rid of the graininess all one needs to do is make sure that a very fine grained salt is used. I used to use whatever I had in the cupboard, and then I tried Diamond Crystal salt. I'm not trying to advertise, but the play dough came out much better! and it is best to add the food colouring to the liquid ingredients to have a more uniform colour.
  7. as for the # I promised earlier... Call this phone number 1-800-524-1328 and have the UPC code 33200-03020. The service will ask for your zip code and then tell you places in your area that sell the item. I believe this service will locate most items if you have the UPC code number.
  8. I get mine for $2.99 my niece gets it for $1.99 both for the 55 ounces.
  9. I can find it a Hannaford up here but not Shaws...I'll look up a phone number in a bit ( have to put the kids to bed), you can call and they will tell you who in your area sells it...
  10. I love it! I am going on year 3. I was skeptical at first, tried the 3 months..didn't renew it, and hten about 4 months later rejoined. I have never regretted it. And yes, it is about convienence, not saving money. We have their subscibe and save program though for some of our groceries, but mostly..books and toys. If I need an item here tomorrow I pay $3.99 and it is here tomorrow.. I get money every Chritmas and every year, $80 of it is going to Amazon...:001_smile:
  11. :iagree: was just thinking this same thing..or almost..I really don't ever need to go to jail, do I? College is nothing like high school anyway. personally, I think a lot of homeschooled kids might be better at doing the studying that is required in college. Most PS kids are a bit sheltered when it comes to the no reminders part. in college the teachers aren't telling you that something is due next wek, or next month..you don't get a second chance to hand it in and all that.
  12. Same thing here..even at bedtime. I must add though, that I like Barbara Jonson..the female narrator much better..no idea why they ever got rerecorded. The one we have with her is much easier on my ears.
  13. basically, an all meat or nearly all meat diet will lower cholesterol. This is totally backed up by actual science..I don't want to start a flame war..I'm sure this could. reading Gary Taubes: Good calories Bad calories, is a fast way to get most of the scientific literature out there.
  14. Thank you to all who have, or are ,serving our country...have a wonderful Veteran's Day. As always, at 11 am this morning I will say a little prayer in honour of WWI. :patriot::patriot: That's it...just Thanks! Jenny
  15. I have so many...but if i have to choose just one it would be that i make my own cleaners..from "windex' to laundry detergent.
  16. I found AS1 very disjointed as well. I ended up tossing most of their schedulal and doing my own thing. Now I look at what books they are using and what books Sonlight uses, and take what I want from both..much cheaper, but not exactly plug in and go.
  17. I love that idea! But, phrase it gently and still don't be surprised if it catches those used to your gifts offguard.
  18. :iagree::iagree::iagree: I could not agree with Martha's statements more. That's all.
  19. For one, I just don't want to put that much mercury in my body...the one without mercury has formaldehyde and I don't really want that in me either... Not on a yearly basis...We vaccinate for big stuff...polio, DTP etc...just not for a yearly flu.
  20. Just so you don't think your the only one! I'm right there with you!:001_smile:
  21. Oddly, around here our supermarket is holding swine flu vaccination days, it costs about $25 or so..we aren't getting it, but we don't do flu shots either..nothing to do with any conspiracies..I hope I'm not feeding any trolls with this!:tongue_smilie:
  22. Our kids classes are after church, not during so they get both the "cupcake" and the "protein bar". I send them because I was raised by atheists, not Chirtians, so even though I teach them religion at home, I am still insecure. Having said that, I do feel like the sunday school is supplementing my teaching and not the other way around.
