  1. Rainbow Resources has a sale also. The work books are $2.00 off. I just got an e mail this morning from Maria at MM saying Kagi downloads will be on sale Aug 6-19th. I usually buy the printed workbooks and get the supportive materials download. I love the worksheet generator!
  2. I just reduced my price on the For Sale Board for WT1. It really is in good condition. :)
  3. We also just finished FLL4. I have been looking at Daily Grams and Easy Grammar. WTM suggest Rod& Staff which didn't look like a good fit for us. Also Shurley English. Looking forward to what others have to say.
  4. Yep, we had the exact problem a few weeks ago with MM 3B. I got out my measuring tape and asked my daughter to find how many 3 feets were in a yard. It was difficult for her at first but it got much easier with the visual aid! She caught on right away with division. By the way.....we used the book Multiplication in a Flash to memorize the multiplication facts. I highly reccomend that book! We spent about 3 weeks with just that book. It really helped. I have also found the extra worksheets in MM are needed for more practice than the workbook gives. We got the downloadable worksheet generator.
  5. We also put ours in the garage, inside a styrofoam cooler to help with noise. It was great fun!
  6. Thanks for the info. I havent heard of these either.
  7. I felt it was just too expensive. We don't need to purchase that many books for our home library! We have allready read most of them. I am with the others that say something just told me it wasnt for us! I do have friends that use it and I think it's a great program for others.
  8. No work boxes, no filing. We just break it down by qtr. I know how many lessons I need to do each qtr to stay on track. I printed out quarterly planner sheets from Donnayoung.org for each subject. I wrtie down the page number we complete each day. I can see at a glance how many lessons we have done that week and how many we have left to do, and what page to start on next. Works great for us! Pretty simple.
  9. Public schools start August 20th here. We started last week. I am so glad my daughter talked me into starting last week. It has been too hot outside to do anything!
  10. We love to watch the birds at our house. When I asked my 8 year old what kind of bird she thought it was she immediately said "a chickadee". I say chickadee or Junco.
  11. My very favorite mulch is pine needles. It's natural, it looks great, it works great to control weeds, it decomposes slowly so it last a long time. I rake the needles up from under my pine trees in the fall. I also broke down and bought some bales from a local nursery. Some say pine needles are to acidic. I have never found this to be an issue. If the soil does become acidic ammend it.
  12. We used Real science 4 kids this year and went through it way too quickly. Although my daughter loved it, there just wasnt enough content. I downloaded the Pandia Press REAL Science Odyssey first sample lessons and think it would be a much better fit for us. I like the book suggestions. I think we will be able to find most of them at our library. It looks fun, interesting and not a lot of dollars!
