Thank you all so much! Familia, I was tossing around the idea of just going directly to Saxon Alg II as I have that too! We've struggled with math with my oldest as he was not a math person and had some other issues as well. This son is a math person and I want to try what's best for him. Can you tell me how you sequenced the upper level math years please? Many thanks 😄

My son has started Jacob's Geometry this year and it is just not clicking at all with him. We did TT Algebra last year and he did quite well, but, did not enjoy using the computer for math, so, that is why I went with Jacob's. We've done many years of Saxon, so, I was thinking of trying that. I happen to have both Saxon and TT Geometry already as I have other children as well. Would love to hear what people have to say about either of these, as well as the additional CDs that can be purchased. Many thanks!

Hello! I have been looking over the Teacher Manual for the Poetry, Prose and Drama I book and had a few questions. The sample I am looking at mentions referring to "How to Mark a Book." Is that a section that is in all of the TMs? Also, in the Comprehension section there are words that are bolded (i.e. speaker, personification, diction and contrast). Are those things addressed in the book and how to explain it to your child or is there another book for that? Do all of the TMs have lit analysis and Socratic questions in them as well? Are there certain TMs that you love more than others? Many thanks for your help

Oh how we struggle with this here. My boys are not big on this and it has been tough over the years to get them to understand it. We’ve tried many different things over the years (Seton, Our Mother Tongue, Easy Grammar to name a few) ,but, nothing seems to really stick and they don't retain much of what we've covered. We've done it together as a group and separately one on one. I have noticed that diagramming does help them to understand it better. Would love to hear what others think about grammar and vocabulary choices :) This year I am making this our focus and would love to hear any suggestions on what you use and what works and does not. Many thanks from the bottom of my frustrated-well-meaning-momma heart!

My oldest will be beginning high school and I know that LFC B is only a half credit course and was thinking of switching to either Henle or Latin Alive. We really loved LFC A and especially the DVDs which made it much more easily understood as I have no prior Latin background. I have heard that if you use Henle you can nicely combine Visual Latin with it too. Would love to hear what everyone thinks. Many thanks :)

We used Latin for Children from CAP and we all loved it! My kids learned so much from it especially grammar and vocab! The DVDs are engaging and fun too :)

We have used LFC from CAP for the past 1 1/2 years and enjoyed it. Trying to figure out what to use for next year and my oldest will be in high school too, so, I need to think about credit hours now as well. Thanks for your thoughts. Would love to hear pros and cons of what you like if you don't mind :)

Thank you all so much! We tried Khan Academy this morning and I loved it, but, he was looking at me :/ I know it will click, but, this is frustrating for him since he has never gotten so stuck in math before. I will definitely check out the Key to Fractions.
