  1. I'm not a big fan. One of the things I find most annoying about him is his holier than thou attitude when doling out advice he did not live out. He got out of debt by filing for bankruptcy! He didn't seem to suffer much harm from it, yet he doesn't think anyone should follow in his path.
  2. I've been following this story. I'm a native Detroiter and read the News and Freep daily although I've since relocated. I'm sorry this story is hitting very close to home for you. I hope the investigators close this case soon for the victim's family.
  3. I am very glad to see others having success using FIAR with speech delayed children. I am using it with my nearly 6-year-old speech delayed DS. He mostly has auditory processing problems. The repetition definitely seems to help. Both my husband and I have seen some tremendous gains with him.
  4. We took advantage of a homeschool deal there and got the largest suite for $139/night plus tax. It was well worth it, in my opinion, to go during the week. We have been on the weekend before and it's much more crowded and chaotic. It was very nice to be there during a less busy time with other homeschoolers. My husband remarked about how much nicer it was with homeschooled kids. Avoid their restaurant, too. It's less expensive and much yummier to eat off grounds.
  5. Thanks, ladies! I go by Elle and this is my second year of official homeschooling. I have a first grader, kindergartner and prek-3er. We are taking the eclectic approach. My second born has a speech and language delay, so we're constantly revising our homeschooling plan to accommodate those needs. I look forward to getting to know you all!
  6. Hi, all! I'm new to posting around here. I've finally gotten my homeschool schedule together enough to spend more time here as an active participant. Is there a place for introductions, or do I just dive right in?
