Our Favorite is Christian Liberty Press. It was a great fit for my kids and they loved the little readers that came with it!

I use Adventures in Phonics w/ readers from CLP. My son loved this!

That's weird...I tried purchasing these about 9:30 last night and was told the offer was no longer available. Wonder if there was a glitch on the website?
As of now, this is still available! I just made a purchase:001_smile: Thank you for sharing! -
I have used the Adventures in Phonics series from Christian Liberty Press with both of my dds. It's inexpensive, no bells and whistles, but is more challenging than some of the other programs I have seen. Both girls were early readers (fluent in K). They have both worked through Adventures pretty independently, but it is still challenging enough for them so they don't get bored. The workbooks are very plain (no color), but my kids never seemed to mind. My youngest is just completing the 1st grade level, and will move on to grade 2 in the fall. Of all the subjects we do, CLP Phonics is the only one I have stuck with all the way. :)
:iagree:We have done this too with great results. Love Adventures in Phonics!

Math Mammoth. So many raved reviews and I was so underwhelmed.
:iagree:my kids were thrilled when we dropped it.

It's hysterical to me. You have to remember his days on In Living Color to know how he can do creepy to be funny.
:iagree: I was giggling out loud by the end of the video
I loved him on In Living Color!

Thanks for the link...watched it, it was very interesting. Sent links to all my friends, this is something everyone should see.

Has anyone actually gotten the email?
I got it a few minutes after signing up.

We use the Robinson Curriculum. I find most people IRL have never heard of it, even if they are long time home schoolers.

Tiffany, I find it interesting that your youngest is 7 and you are gonna do FIAR next year. My dd is nearing 6 yo and we have no plans to stop with FIAR anytime soon. Seems the common trend here is to move on after K. I just see so much in there that is so rich that I want to keep using it for dd, and she loves it too.
I totally agree, we are loving it here and are learning so much! Even my 9yr old loves to participate when we do FIAR.
I think this program gets overlooked a lot in favor of "doing more" but really we are doing more in such a gentle way with FIAR that it almost seems too easy. :)
I have found the ladies on the FIAR boards to be very encouraging, they have all continued on after K and have shared their wonderful experiences.

We started at 7yrs here too, and he is doing great with it.

:iagree: We loved it at first too, then my kids begged me to switch after using this for a while.
I just wanted to throw in my 2 cents about MM.....I loved it at first and now it is just causing tears(me and the kids!). Sometimes I have a hard time wrapping my head around it. Have you looked at Christian Light? -
Yes we teach it here, I personally feel it is very important...
For my older kids who learned cursive in 3rd gr. I required everything in cursive starting in 4th grade.
For my 9yr old.... I started her with cursive first in 1st grade, So she has used cursive for everything from the start.
For my 1st gr. DS ...he is using cursive first this year and will follow in his 9yr old sisters steps.
I have found that teaching cursive first works great. After they learn the cursive the printing is no problem, it comes easily.

Unfortunately I think the extreme nutcases tend to muddy the waters for seeing what might be really happening.
It doesn't take much to see that we live in changing times and our cosy sense of security of the last 50 years might be coming to an end. Many predictions are actually coming true, such as the unrest in the middle east and food shortages, and catastrophic weather. So don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.
I think it pays to keep your eyes open. But acting on fear is never a good idea and a lot of conspiracy stuff is so fear based and feeds fear and drama.
But amongst it all is a deep wave of change happening on the planet and I personally am watching it closely.
:iagree: I'm definitely watching things more closely nowadays!

Thanks everyone:)
I just heard back from they lady selling the set and she just realized that they used all the student building codes too. Hmmm... not sure I should pursue this any further. I don't know how this will work without the books or building codes?
Thanks again,
Tiffany
