  1. I am looking at Excellence in Lit (thanks to the great posts by Lori D.) and the Stobaugh lit guides. Anyone looked at both? The Cathy Duffy review for Window to the World Lit scared me off a little. Sounds like it works best in a group. How much work is involved to adapt it for one student? Also, anyone used Starting Points? How much lit analysis is done? Is it suitable for a senior? Thanks.
  2. Jean in CA ,what do you go to when you finish FLL level 4? Is that when you begin R & S?
  3. You may find P. Yancy's Where Is God When It Hurts and Disappointment With God would help you explain these issues to her. I'm assuming you have read the book of Job with her. God, Himself, has the best words to explain who He is. How wonderful to have a child asking to know him.

  5. I used All American History Vol. 1 this year for my 7th grader. He likes biographies, so we added many of those and several video supplements. For this age, it needs more directed writing assignments. The TM has some suggestions for further reading. The student activity book is more appropriate for a younger child. We like MOH and switched to AAH to complete our history cycle before he begins high school. It has been a solid choice. We were both happy with it, and will be using Vol 2 next year. Unlike my younger kids who are doing Sonlight, my son using AAH finished everything early. (And he liked it.)
  6. This page has a pdf at the bottom with dividers to print for a memory verse file card box. Great system. http://simplycharlottemason.com/timesavers/memorysys/ Laurel
