To me there is a difference between 'clean' and 'tidy'. I like a clean house, meaning not dirty and dusty. I prefer my own house to be relatively tidy, but not perfect. I can handle small amounts of clutter in my house, but not large amounts. For instance, I can stand piles of books on the coffee table and a basket of folded laundry sitting around for a couple of days, but not dishes, dirty clothes, etc.
However, in other people's homes, I'm a little uncomfortable if it is really, really filthy, or if it is so neat and clean that I'm afraid to make a mess.
:iagree:
I don't mind toys, clutter, even laundry, or that sort of thing, but it's bad when the toys are on a floor that's so dirty the kids get black knees from playing on it, or you have to push aside garbage that's overflowing everywhere.

I have a shark steam mop for when I really mop, and a microfiber mop (wet/dry) for quicky clean up or for just spot cleaning.
The shark I have I can do a good chunk of floor without running out of water. I usually have to change pads on it before I run out of water. It is really hot if you try to change the pads without letting it cool a bit. I love the steam mop! It's a shark steam pocket mop.

I don't really *like* to clean, but if life is hectic and feeling out of control, at least I can control the mess in my house. If life is crazy and everything is a disaster, I go crazy. If I'm stressed, I start organizing. I'm weird ;)

I've ordered my cloth diaper covers from http://www.wigglewormbottoms.com and my friend has ordered disposable diaper covers from her too. They are really cute and really well made. I think she makes them without the PUL inner for covering a disposable.

You can check http://www.mouseplanet.com, on their most recent Disneyland Update they have a listing of all of the current deals being offered. There's also http://www.mousesavers.com

It's common here in Southern Calif, most places ask for 3 times the rent, some 2.5, and some twice the amount of the rent (I used to be a work at home mom as an apartment manager for 8 years...yetch). I've had a LOT of people call and want to rent a place that costs $700 a month, and they only make $821 with their income. There's no way they could pay their rent/utilities/food/clothing/etc. with their rent being so much of their income. Granted- I had no way of knowing if maybe that individual could- it was set for me by the owners. You can't discriminate on where they make their income (source of income is a protected class), but you can have a threshold they must meet. So if you made $1400 a month collecting cans, sewing diapers, and recycling metal, as long as you had proff of that, they couldn't deny you (on income, anyways).

You can get non-alcoholic beer (so I hear), and it is supposed to be good at boosting your milk supply.

My big problem with the technology is that they don't need to learn that in school! They will learn it -they will not be "screen" illiterate. Who taught them all to text so fast? No one! Most kids do not need to increase screen time.
Exactly! My son took a little 2 hour "class" at the apple store, then came home and figured waaaaay more stuff out then they taught him there. Kids will figure it all out, and then figure out things that we had no idea how to do.

I pray they find him soon. How scary!

How old are your kids? Were they in public school? I've head you need to take some time and let them adjust from not being in super scheduled public school mode- to being a homeschooler.

Hubby and I had two boys, and we used the Shettles' book to help influence baby #3 to a girl. I think also one of the ttc calenders has it marked for trying for either gender. That being said, we would of been happy if it had been a boy or a girl. There is no way we would pay to try and get a different gender.

My stepdaughter and I buy ours at sporting goods stores. A tad pricey, but well worth it! Quicksilver has some cute ones.

We have the DSlite. My son who can't read (or wont, you pick) has a easy time playing most of the games. I think the words encourage him to at least attempt to try and read. We LOVE the lego games. I think the worst thing is loosing the games, but a good case should take care of that. If possible, get an extended warranty! If it breaks they will fix it.

I do the same thing with my frozen meat, stick it in the crock pot all day on high.
And add me to the crock pot list...chicken today!

Me too! What a waste of a nice morning! But what a good excuse to drink starbucks and wander around target for awhile while my kiddo tests.

I hope this is ha-ha funny....Dental insurance has saved us quite a lot of money. Way more then we pay into it. I think it's just as important as health insurance.

I'd bet it was one of Gaby's girls, and she finds out that the girl who was hers and switched was beautiful, skinny, and exactly like her- so I think she'd be the one most torn up about it.
I wonder what Paul Young will be up too....I can't think of anything he would want revenge on.
I hope they continue the Eddie story a bit, I'd love to know if he goes to jail or therapy or something, and if Lynette keeps encouraging him.

My son has this one: http://www.vitalid.ca/store/scripts/default.asp The medical ID bracelet. It's got a slip of paper in it (waterproof) with room for phone, meds, and medical issue (most people don't know what his disease is, I had room to write it out and write out what it is). It's held up to a lot of abuse pretty well too.

I just hate that my son always feels wet in the new pampers, and when he does pee, now his clothes feel damp right away. One of my other friends who swears by pampers has her daughter leaking through them too. So I'm switching back to huggies. I like'd the up and up brand (target's) diapers, but I hate the big blue dots showing through his lighter colored clothes, and they rub him funny and give him rashes.

I have the same shark pocket mop Tiffnkids linked. I use it on my tile floors and it works great! If you look around you might find a good sale on one. It's worth it to have the extra mop heads, the triangle works great in bathrooms. There are cheaper mop options, but they don't steam as well as the shark does.
I just love the fact I don't have to wait for the floors to dry!

I am totally peeved at the anti-TV and anti-gaming attitudes here sometimes so I'm going to step up and proclaim that I am an avid gamer.
I feel like I'm at a gamer-anonymous group!
I play WoW the most, ds9, ds6 & hubby play on a more casual basis. DS9 pretty much learned to read between WoW and toontown. Both boys also play toontown when they feel like it. DS9 also plays left4dead (I know- not really kid friendly, but it doesn't bother him. He likes it. He understands its a game), and also designs Left4Dead maps. I have no idea what is involved in making the maps, but it looks pretty technical.
We also have 2 ps2's, 3 nintendo DS, and a Wii. We love playing mario party together on the DS. The Wii is just all out fun for everyone. We usually have friends over and either play the Wii, the Wii fit, any of the singstar games, rock band, you name it!
I'd rather have my kids play some sort of game then stare blankly at a TV all day. Once their schoolwork is done they are free to play what they wish, when they wish. We do spend a lot of time outside in the afternoons, and they get plenty of exercise.
They even have TVs and computers in their rooms....yet they spend all their time in the living room with me. It's rare they spend time in their room by themselves.

Have you looked at Toontown?
Okay California girls where are you? (and boys too)
