Dd was with Julia for 6 years from the beginning until just recently after graduating high school. I don’t know what Julia’s schedule is now with students. She is a straight forward no nonsense type of teacher. With her I’m confident that Dd had an excellent grammar foundation. She also has excellent pronunciation. Dd was able to volunteer at a Russian senior center and understand about 50- 75% of the conversation even though conversation was not emphasized during her lessons. At a certain point in the students studies, she encourages them to enter a competition. For Dd it was writing an essay to a prompt. We had to ask for a slower pace homework schedule when Dd had too much going on, so she is flexible. Dd may get a minor in Russian. RootAnn who no longer posts here has a kid who studied under Julia and is now double or triple majoring with one being Russian.

I felt the same way abt HP and bought it at about the same time as you. It was a nightmare, but you can disable the subscription (recently did it after I stopped using it for 2 years) and buy HP ink ( Walmart is cheaper). I haven’t had time to see if Costco could fill in the cartridge. But at least now we can use the printer without having HP supervise our usage. Or Epson which I love! I got it from Costco shortly after the nightmare of HP. I have the ET-3760. And I like that we can get generic ink especially the ones I can fill the original cartridge on my own. ETA: your issue with HP it’s slightly different from mine but I’m probably going to reach your point soon. I really don’t use HP that much these days but I needed an extra printer. The problem is that HP printer is affordable but customers may not realize that they get you later on.

Also, George Washington high school in SF would but OP needs to give the AP coordinator more time to respond, if he’s still employed there. By the time he responded I had found another place for DD. But he did seem open to offering a seat. I’m surprised Lowell would offer given the number of kids I expect take AP exams there.

There are parents who think they can hear everything and will refuse to wear them. I really think parenting parents is almost like parenting toddlers but way harder. For me at least.

Thank you, I’m beginning to see there are a wide variety of prices. It’s for me too. Always wanted a leather sofa. I was looking at Poly (Napa sofa) as well as some other brands like Burrow, 25home, Castlery and maybe West Elm. Pottery Barn is out of the budget. Good to know! Right I think higher quality will be better with dogs. 25home claims that but I’m going to continue looking at reviews.

The pharmacy is asking the doctor for an alternative which means the insurance company must have rejected it. I’ll ask the PA if there is another way to get it.

I actually didn’t know there were medications for migraines until recently due to another post. Are the Botox injections done by a plastic surgeon/dermatologist or by a different type of doctor?

I don’t know if it’s coincidence at this point, but I took one tablet and the beginnings of a migraine did go away within 30 minutes.

Is Emgality a daily pill? PA mentioned that Nurtec can be used just when you feel one coming on, and I saw that the stats for this drug is not as favorable as the one for Imitrex. I’m going to ask for Emgality if Nurtec doesn’t work. I didn’t see the pattern to my migraines until very recently. What I want to know is this going to be a lifetime problem. It’s ruined many events for my Dd when she was younger when I needed to take her somewhere but just couldn’t. One of the reasons I don’t commit to anything is that I might have to cancel due to a migraine.

Do kids outgrow this behavior in college?

My PA gave me a sample of 2 tablets of Nurtec. I can feel a migraine coming so I just took one. Does this work on anyone?

My adult friend and wife attended last week. From pictures it looks like a lot of fun - they were dressed up according to the album. I hope you get tickets. Now DH asked if he could go to Black Pink concert. I said yes take Dd but he said he was only joking. But was he? He listens to a lot of Korean music but knows no Korean. Each ticket is about $350 but in our town.

DD’s friends did travel from CA to AZ in April. One mom was the chaperone but I don’t know if she attended the concert. These parents were willing to splurge. I was trying to guess the total for tickets, travel, food, rooms. $1000 per kid? I don’t whether I should have been grateful or offended that Dd was not invited. 😂

Actually is it a good idea to take out the federal loan each year just in case? We don’t qualify for anything other than what’s offered to all students? Is that zero interest?

Did you take off work to do all this? You remind me of the energizer bunny I used to see on tv back in the 80s. I don’t watch networks with commercials so no idea if that bunny is still around.
