She will dream in French. Years ago, I used to dream in French. It was wonderful, to wake up from a dream, and realize it had been in French. All the best to your daughter!

I have a hard time starting up after lunch break. :) Coffee gets me through the morning, and herbal tea gets me through the afternoon. ;) Hang in there and enjoy the moments.

  3. You know that child that you have to fight with to throw away every blessed scrap of paper? It turns out that not much changes when you get to moving them out for college.

I have three of those children -- all girls, all in love with paper scraps.

I wish the sunny weather would come to the rainy-summer East Coast. So cloudy here, it's driving me nuts.

  7. I am ooooone like under a "popular" badge on page 1 of the "no school for two years" thread. Not that I'm so uncool as to keep track. *sulks*

  8. Anyone else think the spam post titles we have had recently on the Gen Ed Board could make good writing prompts?

Why do these people post spam in the first place?

  10. Twin toddlers are driving me CrAzY! Last night one fell asleep at 8:30 and one at 11. Naptime one asleep at 1 and the other still awake at 3. It's a good thing they're cute!!

My twins turned eight earlier this month. I remember that toddler stage! Oh, boy! My mom used to say, "When you can tell them to put on their shoes, put on their coats, and get in the van -- and they do it -- you will have reached a new stage." I used to think, "Will that ever happen?" It certainly did, in due time. Hang in there, Twin Mom. Some day you will sleep! :)

  13. Happily working through the summer months at a slower pace, wrapping up some loose ends. :)

Yes, it's nice. A relaxed early morning, with a few necessary chores. Coffee (for me), crafts (for the girls), and a cozy read aloud (everyone). Math, reading, writing. Music, history, or science. Swimming. Showers, supper, rabbit chores, bed time. I marvel that nothing feels urgent.

  16. Kids first fencing lesson today and they fell in love. WHY can't they love something cheaper??

Hmm... let's see. Baseball or fencing? Football or fencing? Basketball or fencing? Fencing is so much cooler than throwing a ball around!
