They have a few other sales during the year, I think for 10% off.
I took advantage of the sale and purchased the grade 8 set. The samples DO NOT do these books justice. The civics book is so much better than I thought it would be. I am looking forward to using them this fall.
FWIW, We've used parts of Oak Meadow for the past two years. I have this love/hate relationship with it...LOL. I love the idea of it, but when pressed for time, or when burn-out occurs it overwhelms me. As was mentioned before, this curriculum is heavy on writing, and that can be too much sometimes. We don't always do every assignment, or instead of writing we will discuss instead.
We have also used the OM math from grades 4 - 7. It has worked out beautifuly for my two mathphobic boys. The pages are not too busy and I think the concepts have been explained well. If they need more work on something, I just print-off some additional worksheets from mathdrills.com. We also supplemented with Life of Fred Fractions in the sixth grade.
