  1. Time4learning highschool science ?
  2. Sorry, just saw this. My son has been with American School for about 1 1/2 years. Any questions, etc. I'd be glad to help. Did you call the school?
  3. AGS is sold on Rainbow Resource and CBD.com. There are samples on both sites.
  4. We are planning on using MyWorld Geography. It comes with a student text, workbook, answer key, and DVD's. It is for 7 - 8th grade. Bought it from CBD.com for $55.00 :)
  5. Just wanted to add, if she needs the review, etc. then those Essential courses may be a good choice. But if not, or if she's already taken prealgebra, what 's the point? My son struggles horribly with math. He completed TT Prealgebra in 8th grade and is now slowly working through AS Algebra 1. I guess my point is, if you don't need the review, move on then. I guess all if this would also depend on the math sequence you have planned for high school. Sheri
  6. Yes, you can definitely opt-out of those math classes. All it took was an email:) Sheri
  7. Well, I guess you should feel sorry for my son then, LOL. We have been using American School since last October and it has been a great fit for him. What were the issues you had there?
  8. I wouldn't skip if DD struggles and/or has LD's. Check the scope and sequence for TT7 and TT prealgebra - there is a world of difference. Of course, just my two cents :)
  9. Anyone know how much they charge for the diploma service? I can't seem to find that info.
  10. Sorry, don't know if there is a schedule or time period. I think you are allowed to test out of 5 subjects. You could always give them a call or email them. They are always quick to answer and very helpful whenever I email them. Sheri
  11. Yes, 9 courses would at least be the10th grade. Yes, we started with Algebra I. I had to ask for it, though. They give you only two subjects to start, then as soon as you complete one test, they mail the next subject. I told them we were already working on Algebra and asked if we could have the course now. They were fine with it, but you could not have more than 4 courses at a time (and you would have to finish 2 before you could have any more). I guess you could just take the tests. You are not supposed to send in more than one at a time, though (so that you can benefit from their comments, etc. before doing any more tests). But, it took a little over two weeks before my son received a grade on the first test (he is taking test 2 next week) You could just do them and send them in every couple of weeks…?
  12. candmforever, My son had Teaching Textbooks for PreAlgebra and part of Algebra I. We decided to enroll him in American School, so we had to ditch the TT Alg. I orginally thought we would finish out TT and take the Algebra exam at AS for credit. Unfortunately we couldn't do that because you have to have completed 9 courses at AS in order to test out of a subject. So now he is taking Algebra I through American School. The transition was initially hard, as it is very different than TT. He is also struggles a lot in math, so waiting until 9 courses are complete before taking the exam would not have worked here (they do not provide any study materials, etc. either). Just thought you should know about the exam part:) Sheri
  13. I'll give it a whirl - thanks for your help:)
  14. Thank you both for the info. milovany, I tried the link. Said I had to sign-in :(
  15. To start, I know nothing about facebook. Don't have anyone else to ask either... I was interested in creating an account for my Etsy shop. My question is….would people be able to search for my name (meaning my name, not my shop name) and get my Etsy shop? I want to sign-up for my shop, not for personal use. Therefore, I don't want my personal info. out there for all to see. Is this possible?? I've seen others not include any personal info. on their shop pages, but I don't know (since I don't have a facebook acct.) if you can be tracked down by your first/last name instead (that is, if you don't list this info. on your page). Hope this is as clear as mud! Thanks for any info.
  16. My boys have a hard time with writing, so we either just discuss the questions or pick one writing assignment to work on that week (this was with OM5 & 6, we are starting OM7 history shortly). That seemed to help some of the stress....LOL. Otherwise, nothing would have been done. We also added in a lot of the additional reading suggestions.
  17. There is very basic instruction. Nothing that helped my writing-phobic son :(
  18. There are book lists at the end of every lesson (or almost) for OM7 World History. Have you tried those?
  19. Oh, I hear you. I have been eating LCHF for 15 months. I am sick of bacon......who gets sick of bacon??? I love bacon. But, I am tired of it. Part of my problem is that I am picky, so that limits my choices. I have been at a weight that I am comfortable with for about 4 months now. I have started to add some more carbs in here and there. Maybe some rye bread, pizza, etc. I still stay away from pasta, white/wheat bread, rice, and what I call pointless snacks (pretzels, crackers, etc.). I am now focusing on eating better in general - more veggies, some fruit, and trying to eat things with worth (if that makes sense!).
  20. Did they not give the epipen soon enough? If they had given it to her right away, would it have mattered?
  21. You can get a credit/debit card through paypal. That way you can use "paypal" anywhere. You also earn cash back for those purchases :)
