  1. So many from So I Married an Axe Murderer. So many.

    Better off Dead

    ”This fabulous le-core!”

    ”Sorry about your mom Ricky”

    The whole Howard Cosell bit

    Princess Bride

    Inconceivable!”

You keep using that word. . . “

“Never go up against a Sicilian when death is on the line!”

Groundhogs Day. “Oooh it’s an earthquake!” Any time we get behind a little old driver going slow. That inevitably leads into the bit about “you totaled it” and “it’s that nice young man from the motor club!”

    “Too early for flapjacks?”
    “They’re hicks, Rita”

@J-rap I'm not sure if it's the same one, but there was a homeschooling mom here whose family owned a dairy farm in the PNW(?) or maybe NorCal. She was a long time regular here, but life went off the rails in a number of ways, and her bounce back from all of that had her opening her own restaurant. I remember her name, but I'm not sure she's the same one you're talking about. She did pop back in here after a couple of years to let us know she was thriving, albeit in a far different way than what he had envisioned.

Julie something.  And it was NorCal. I ate at her restaurant once and PMed her about it. I’ve since moved states and I’ve wondered if it’s still there.

I knew an old guy who would go to these sales and buy clothes for his kids and grandkids.  I always thought it was nice.

As far as the aggressiveness, I don't go to estate sales or yard sales, but I've noticed recently that there are more aggressive people in one gym I go to.  It's nothing like OP is describing, but it's definitely new here.  They leave their stuff on one machine while they use another machine, going back and forth between the 2 machines.  And it's not quick either.

One time, I saw a machine that I wanted to use had no one on it so I went over and began adjusting it to use it.  A guy came over from a nearby machine and said 'I am using that machine'.  I gave him a blank stare and stood there for a moment.  He just stared back, obviously not intending to budge.  So I walked off to find a different machine.  As I walked off, only then did I see all his stuff piled on the top of the mechanical part of the machine.  I guess that was supposed to keep anybody else from using that machine while he was off using another machine ... 😒  And this kind of thing seems to be happening more lately.  Very frustrating.

I would complain to gym management about that kind of behavior.

  4. The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien.  It's a collection of stories about US soldiers in Vietnam.  It gets graphic and heavy and I have to read it in small chunks.  However, the author writes beautifully.

The Bright Side of Disaster by Katherine Center.  This is more lighthearted fiction about a pregnant woman who unexpectedly finds herself as a single mother.

My husband and youngest daughter tend to be walking recipe blogs...in that there are stories, photos, anecdotes, and memories told way way before you get to the pertinent information.

I'm very tempted to say, "jump to recipe" when they start. I just want the answer to my question, not a memoir.

I've been known to say, "Tell me the end of this story."

    I got these from BandH.com: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1750789-REG/american_paper_optics_eclipse20pk2_solar_eclipse_glasses_20_pack.html

I don’t still have it, but I did the research at the time and was satisfied that this pair was legit. I know the company is. They’re a reputable company. I’ve bought a lot of camera gear from them.

Maybe looking at this pair can get you going.

    @Ginevra—which ones did you get?

I just ordered these too.  I feel better ordering from B & H than from Amazon in this case.
